as a girl apart I knew
the best part of life
was a hot summer field
a great book
the sent of summer grass
and your dog
tired from the walk but happy to rest
waiting for what comes next
laying down to read
hiding from the world
hiding out
Summer sun,
warm my skin.
summer sun,
warm me within.
Set my emotions
free,
so all can see,
the glow in me.
Summer sun,
It's you I see,
when my girl,
smiles at me.
And when you
set at night,
I see you again,
when she says,
good night.
I remember a summer day
how the wind danced across
the waist high grass
and that little creek running
through the middle
I remember loving sweet
by that little stream
skipping stones in-between
the kisses that grew deep
I remember laying in your arms
on a warm summer day
nothing in our way
like it was yesterday
It’s like spinning the bottle
And watching it turn
Getting kissed first
As you stomach churns
It’s like your first 5 speed
And the fun it brings
Pushing the clutch
Listening to it sing
It’s like a summer storm
On a warm summer night
Lightening flashing
Across the sky
It’s like the excitement that builds
With your first kiss
It’s being in love
And all of this!
all I want to do
is lay down in tall grass
on a warm summer day
watch the clouds pass
all I want to do
is skip stones on the lake
feel the breeze blow
see the ripples it makes
all I want to do
is hold hands while we walk
along the river bank
leaving footprints as we talk
all I want to do
on this lazy summer day
is spend time with you
while we hold the world at bay
I remember when you
Were the girl on the horizon,
Though I always had eyes on you
With a love rainbow wide,
Coloured with light of lonely hours,
Smiling through warm summer showers.
Now I smile to see you
Are the girl on the golden shore
And I can see through your eyes
With a love ocean deep,
Reflecting a soft sapphire blue
Of a summer sky smiling on you.

Love is like a summer garden
In fragrant full colorful bloom
Blooms that wait for the seed harvest
Love's harvest equals more love soon
The fragant garden draws bees, birds
To feast on the pollen, seeds, bugs
Love draws all to feast on joy, peace
Patience, kindness, gentleness..more
Let this summer be your greatest
Largest harvest of love to enjoy
Reap benefits this quality
Bestows _ watch your love surely grow
There, my young man in summer sleeps,
The pale moon, aloft, a watch she keeps.
Envious green, with frustration weeps,
As my young man in the garden sleeps.
That she would wish his beauty hers,
Her every watchful night rehearsed.
Through velvet sky she gently purrs,
Temping vain to make his hand hers.
There my young man in summer sleeps.
Dreaming as my heart he always keeps.
Until sunrise Eastwards, joyous leaps.
Then moon, embittered, falls and sleeps.
