Gloom

A thousand years of pain, a heavy burden I dine ,
Death echoes in darkness, tons of grief I'm ladened with ,
Ashes for clothes, myrrh for a raiment in d mist ,
Scorned, hopes consumed I had to give up wine

The Fleeting Motherlode

High minded but low brow,
and living the contradiction
of a greater truth
I’m caught between transcendence
and pontification
my pockets ladened
with a traitor’s silver
—in search of gold

Haiku

a cricket in the eaves
harmonizes with
night rain
==================
old river benue
a fisherman's canoe
ladened for market
==================
graveyard's windy dust
sending papers and leaves high
every ones underground

Resident Souls

Echoes through the hallway

Of this dilapidated ruin

A stone house made with devoted hands

Ladened once with the life and love of humans

Soft whispers can be heard

An occasional silhouette hazily drifts by

The humans that once lived here

Continue to reside ….

The Heart

THE HEART

A hardened heart is like a rock, heavy ladened with bitterness a pain,
A soft heart is malleable like clay,
This can be moulded into something beautiful,
I know which one I want,
The one which my Father God can use,
He is like a potter,
Who makes things of beauty,
My Father embellishes them each uniquely with his love and blessing!

Stuffed

A special November day
for children, laughter and play.
To others, a day full of loved ones.
A meal too big for all, plates ladened with love.
Amazing how we relate love to stuffing.
Father and son eye the sport,
belts unbuckled, bare bellies rubbed.
Saving the dishes for later,
joyful colors adorn humble abodes,
sprucing up dreary days.
Day one of the rejoicing era
is soon to follow.

Weeping Nude

Her heart is heavy with despair, her soul abandoned
Unruly tangled locks modestly shroud her face and flesh,
Yet her naked rawness, a voyeur’s ideal conception
Yielding to a drab empty room mirroring a bereft mood
Bedding ladened with dead weight heavily sinking
A young woman in grave distress shedding copious tears
A bohemian girl sequestered, hiding, drowning in sorrows
Her flowing streams fall warm, healing and abiding

Anxiety

sometimes it is not real
 those words you spit out

 venom ladened
 enclosed in a ritualistic chant

 haunting the night
 shadows confirm my thought

 deeper into everything
 i am consumed

 deeper and deeper i sink
 can't find up

 the pressure is so overwhelming
just want it to end as you begin

 you whisper your screaming thoughts
i find it harder to be

 in this sea of uncertainty
 drowning sweetly deep

Movers and Shakers

Echoes of their squalling,
finally interferes with my slumber.

Opening my eyes,
to see the pensive faces of the ladened.

And my ears,
to the ear-splitting shrill of the piteous.

Showing me their greatest fears,
Slowing becoming reality before their eyes.

I have seen for myself,
brothers smothering one another.

As a new era seeks recognition,
Iniquity impetuously taking its position.

Tardily becoming the order of the day.
Shortly to be a disease we cannot contain.
