The Newt

A newty knit a net of knots and thought it rather fitting.
But knew he not, that naughty newt, that nets are not for knitting.

Premium Member Don'T Need To Know How To Knit

Money alone won’t make you happy, you have to own it Don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out I'll admit Well at least grade two To stay ahead of the queue Presidents don't even need to know how to knit

Fabric French Terry Knit

French Terry Knit Fabric,
  I’m comfy overlay-
fibers of yarn on my pale skin,
               cozy on Autumn days.
      Embroidered silk within,
sleek with burnished and shiny glaze.

Knit Wit

Well is it a wonder
That I like to
Crochet
And purl
After all I am a writer
and have always enjoyed a good yarn

The rhyming, the rhythm
The soft sigh of wool against
The needles
So right
Tight

Loosen my grip
On life
On reality
On nothing
Spinning that into something
And feeling the stress slip away

Thanks so much Mandy,

What more can I say?

Knit One Purl

The clicking needles replaced by whoosh
as wool loops interlock
the rapid growing fabric - swoosh
the pattern in punched blocks.

No knit one purl to rib a cuff
the endless counting past
but really I have had enough
the joy in craft is lost.

To set a pattern into its place
and feel the wool in hand
no machine can ever replace
the craft a knitter’s planned

Knit One - Purl Two

Yes,
Knit one
Purl two,
Dropped a stitch.

Knit one
Purl two,
Then, the intrusion of you,
In between the lines that
Tell how this cashmere wrap
Will take shape.

Knit one
Purl two,
Start again,
Don't let it get the best of you,
Although this pattern is for
Beginners.

Now your voice!
Lord, I am lost!
Knit one
Purl two
Try again tomorrow!

Premium Member One Couple Of Days - OBD

One Couple Of Days ago last week, the two dead men found out they were really meek. The blind woman has learned how to knit, she loves to knit shoes for her bunny outfit. The deaf policeman is now off the force, he loves being a twenty-six hour DJ in the mall concourse. The two dead boys love to play lively pranks, like driving down main street in their big red tanks.

Premium Member Grandma Knit Mouse

Her name is Grandma Knit Mouse I was told.
You mean Grandma Titmouse? I asked, big and bold.
No, but you have to see her to understand, I guess.
She was in between sweaters, in a huge yarn mess.

She knits in the morning, she knits through the day
Hat, booties, and layettes, all pastel, purled in a way.
She has made a name for herself and is a millionaire now.
Grandma Knit Mouse impressed me; she was a wow!

The Birds and the Bees

A “Closely-Knit” Trio

The macho
He-man
Entered the
Bar to
Inspect the local female population
Red-
Dressed,
Sultry “ladies” sat
And sipped wine
Not giving him one glance
Drawing closer
To a trio of
High-heeled
Enticing “women”
Big Joe tried to
Engage one in conversation
Evasively she lit a cigar and said,
“Sorry, but our threesome suits us just fine”

Premium Member Summer Rain Storm

Terror driven the thunderstorm outside
Animals are uncomfortable and wet
There is no willing earthly place to hide
Grandma sits and knits as aunt and uncle fret
There is a pause, the lightning not well set
Gray thunder roars as loud as any train
Across from grandpa I move my checker and yet
Unnamed feelings cause me a bit of strain
Knowing some are out there in the horrid rain
