The Double Edge

The tragedy of accident,
the wonderment of fate
imprisoning destiny
—on whose steps we wait

the more man possesses, the more he must protect
imprisoning himself within his own suffering,
unknowing that all things are impermanent.

Kisses Like a Witches Spell

For my loves kisses,
Are like a witches spell,
For her lips are,
Soaked with enchantment,
Dripping with rare sweetness,
Forever imprisoning my lips.

Premium Member Hypocrisy Xii

Being indulgent with oneself

But intolerant with others

One, inevitably,

Succeeds in imprisoning himself

Within the walls of ruinous hypocrisy!

Premium Member Sex Traffickers and Pedophiles

Leaving them hopeless
Breaking their spirit
animals sometimes
humans other times
puts them in cages
torments their souls
soulless monsters
imprisoning
setting a trap
capturing
enslaving
kidnapping
tricking
snaring
hunt

Finality of Love

Shedding a final tear
from the cellar of my pain
The walls close in the sorrow
imprisoning me again

Breathing a final sigh
into a memory you forget
My words trapped into silence
—alone with my regret

Shared Love

She shared her love

He gave her his blessings

And she respected him for this

Released not Imprisoning

Escape not needed

Love he knew, she needed more

Open heart and mind he had,

Vicariously he felt her passion

Everything she shared with him.

fire wild, torrid crackling, consuming, liberating passion, heat, chill, frost freezing, seizing, imprisoning solid, compact ice

Why I Write

…Emptiness tightens its shackles,

…

imprisoning me.

…

Jagged shrapnel,
piercing my heart,

…

my emotions trickle away,

yet hope refuses to flee.

…

I write, to feel again.

…

Something, anything.

…

I write,

to be free.

…

I write to feel again.

…

something, anything.

I write to be.

Flowering Lips

Seductively!
She invites,
Tantalizingly,
She beckons,
Intriguingly,
Her lips seduce,
Excitement,
Romancing the air,
Mesmerizing,
Kisses,
Breathing,
Fragrances,
Calling her suitors,
Into her beauty
Capturing their hearts,
Imprisoning their souls,
Hypnotising,
And fascinating,
All who gaze,
Upon her.

Orange Blossoms

after the firestorm
when the earth shakes her fury
the time of rainbows.....

her devastation
but a path
to what cannot pass away
the spirit that thrives
inside orange blossoms
that roar and howl
with flesh

stranger than fiction
stronger than chains
imprisoning
then linking us to earth,

a flash,
here then gone.

Utopia In Soap Bubbles

The worlds of utopia are like soap bubbles,
drifting in the air aimlessly and dreamily,
as they sometimes bond with each other,
         becoming bigger.

Reality is one nasty needle that bursts
   bubbles of utopia.....but sometimes
the bubbles swallow the needle,
imprisoning it in its own cause......

Premium Member The Wall

The wall
Appears stiff and cold
To the hands
The wall
Appears blank and blind
To the eyes
The wall
Appears deaf and dumb
To the ears
The wall
Appears protesting and imprisoning
To the minds
The wall
Appears strange, unattainable and grim
To the hearts
But the wall
Appears safe and reliable
To the places we fall asleep

Live Within the Box

I met this girl
Hollow through a shade of her world
Reluctant to move
A lily on hand await

For an old friend she said
The bizarre anxiety implied
Waiting within the uncertainty limits
Insecurity snatch the sparkle in her eyes

The allure of mystique
Sweeping through her mindset
Live in a simple detention
Her landscape imprisoning, but no mention

Premium Member OPTIMIZING BONDING DELIGHT

Basking under celestial rays there we are… mother and son beyond hope-filled mirth jubilantly surmount imprisoning boundaries... since special child freely wheels himself to optimize bonding delight midst God’s boundless grace... while I plunge into faith-flight beholding his courage wondrously liberating.

Fear Stalks the Night

Making sense of it all…
our grandest myth

Wisdom born of age,
bleeding youth’s betrayal

Questions dry unvarnished,
cold naked in the night

Darker darks reface the cliff,
all edges sharper cut

Two images, clearer than before,
preying in deadly contrast

Wonder imprisoning the day
—fear stalking the night

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2017)

At Dusk

AT DUSK

She cries at the window to be out
Runs to the fence which is no barrier
Dives under the imprisoning wires
The liquid cat

Brings memories of times past
Outside nothing but ambulance sirens
Kisses and hugs are weapons

Smell of cold air through the window
The cold welcome of Greenland’s chilly arms
And daylight seldom seen

Premium Member Renunciation

The screen of awareness upon which life plays, learns by touch whilst yet free from both joy and pain, because it is not soul but ego that sways, imprisoning consciousness in a thought chain, wherein we trauma bond until end of days, unless by force of will, dark desires are slain. This practice requiring renunciation, chooses cessation to raise soul’s vibration.

Loosen the Threads

Let your eyes flood
Music bringing back the memories
Let it loosen the threads
Holding together the pieces of your heart
Allow the gates imprisoning those moments open
Fill your soul so lonely
Remember it all
Each kiss
Every touch
Even just the softest moments
Pray they never go away
And when the music fades out
Be thankful
Hope that when they hear that song
They think of you too...

Truth Flowing Free

Wrestling with time,
an illusion supreme

Its trinity empiric,
three masks to deceive

Past, future, and present,
our dreams undefined

Outside of their stricture,
new presence unrhymed

Rejecting convention,
short sighted and slight

Imprisoning our vision,
with capture and fright

In seizing this instant,
its moment sublime

All truth flowing freely
—unfrozen in time

Are You Real

Are you real or are you an illusion
Like a fata morgana beyond my reach
Imprisoning me in this cell of seclusion
Fading away when I beg your beseech
Teasing me with temptation and desire
Helpless and weak like ashes gone gray
Chilled from the embers of my own pyre
You but to vanish by fading away then
My empty arms left with nothing to hold
Just this mirage, this mirage in disguise
You my beautiful Gaia, a dream untold
Me wanting you real before my eyes

An Ode To Poetry

What is poetry to me

A chance and opportunity

To break out and break free

From the gilded cage

Imprisoning me

To dream of stars

And cosmic themes

To pontificate on nature

And the wonder it gives

To rant to rage about social things

And make a stand environmentally

To speak of love straight from the heart

To weave words of spiritual sparks

To create verses hoping to paint a masterpiece

This is what poetry means to me.

Premium Member I wish I could put my tears back in your eyes

Listen to poem:
Life's a vacancy within my picture frame
Needs only an easel to display no one to blame
Imprisoning me by my own weak hands
Every canvas I paint no one else understands
Outlined only; this portrait of a blank stare
In a gallery where all the walls are laid bare,
As I struggle to modernize my antique ways
True colors won't release this brush of past fateful days
I wish I could put my tears back in your eyes
Since I can't picture a way to accept; even if you apologized

Behind the Wall

Willfully erected..obstructing..
    emotional velocity halted..
Armor.. imprisoning..
    safe and secure.. spiritless..
Layers of pain.. eclipse
    and enclose..restricting ..
Languish not behind the wall..
surrender to the magnitude of emotion..
Escape the enchantment of safety..
    passions unleashed.. fireworks erupting
Delight in the wonder of Love..
thrill to the sensations of life!
~ rejoice as the bricks tumble..
~ shout as the wall falls....
