Miss Hiss

I'd rather cuddle with a cobra,
And chance its lethal venom
Than to fight with female spite-
Cause to strike is like such women!

Hiss

Hiss

And through the hiss and static
I heard my mind say
kindness is humanity's default setting
everything else is just pain

Listen to poem:
The bluff, bump and bluster turn
to blunder asunder with hisses.
As ego deflates with a myriad of
mistakes and chaotic miss-hits,
it dismisses an over-inflated sense
of power and influence
down the off-ramp.

Black Hiss

Potential is
the moulted skin
of a snake in jest—
laced with
the plastic tatters
of an old crow's nest.
A makeshift bulletproof vest.
With a valiant crest.
Worn by a soldier
on a hollow conquest—
to claim broken toys
in a fetid wormy chest.

It means nothing.

A songbird serenaded trilling so sweet.
It resonated thru my soul.
I pulsed to the beat.
Sitting by the pond a frog greeted me.
I croaked back at him serendipitously.
I came across a dog whose tail was wagging.
I bent over to greet him, my body gently sagging.
I discovered a snake concealed in the mist.
I stood quietly in place and let him hiss, hiss, hiss..
