Spanish One
El amor florece en el invierno también
Rompe el hilo de tus cuentas silenciosas
El amor no es un espejismo
Abre las cerraduras de tu camuflado
anhelos
El amor es genial, el amor es azul
Violeta rosa violeta amarillo
El amor es rojo como la sangre...

Premium Member Dream Big
Today I,
Choose to dream so big
          Saying bye
         To the fear
That had me trapped in my mind
         Now I’m free

In Steps of Hilo
Waves washed in wind
Sulfer swirled till cold with rain.

Flowers bloomed in ashes
where lava dance to cool.

My love grew in tides
Love of my king and queen.

Banyan holds sulfer in tides
Branches blends kayak in dreams .

Left alone as promise child
Dead call names stalk of sugar cane....

Nasikika Nikisema
Mpenzi, mbona wanitupilia mbali?
Na kuniacha katika ziwa la mashaka,
Kisha nikapata mawazo kwamba,
Nasikika nikisema
Labda kuna sababu,
Kuhusu hilo jambo,
Lakini ikiwa ni hivyo,
Nasikika nikisema
Hatua fanya nipate furaha,
Mpenzi, kwani kwangu kusikia uzoefu,
Angalau ningeambiwa nini kiendeleacho.
Nasikika nikisema...

VOILA!

Being kicked to the curb
while skipping to the loo
my friends.
Now back to my shake and bake,
small town of Hilo,
that sits on the bay
below erupting
Mauna Loa &
the 100+ tremors
daily since it began
this past Sunday late at night.

Premium Member War Cry
World's troubles reflected in a dark sky
Days and nights now blurred fears quantify
My ears pick up artillery in war cry
Depression rolls in I try to deny
All my thoughts grow befuddled I belie
Tears held in so many puddles I cry
Emotions all muddled up in deep sighs
My eyes hollow my heart beats amplify
On divine intervention I rely!

Premium Member Still Un-Answered Universal Question
Is it a myth that History repeats?
This universal question that time deletes

Is the evidence clear that it occurs?
Through eons and eons it strangely recurs

Is it true that horrors are dulled by time?
This forever, unchanging paradigm

If wars are to end should it start with me?
To account for mankind’s insanity.

Premium Member Sharp As a Marble
With a mind sharp as a marble
Words roll off my tongue as garble.
My clean shaved head is like a globe
Serpentine tattooed, lobe to lobe
With yellow, brown and strings of blue
Of understated pastel hues
Waxed smoother than a scratched eight-ball
Like a brain coral, all in all.
What is outside is not within
Sharp as a marble crown to chin.

Premium Member Our Mournful Montage
Caught up in a mournful and jumbled montage
It's an exhausting malicious barrage
Just shards of a sordid side show collage
Our sweet smiles are transparent camouflage
For your aching ego there's no massage
So now park it in a soundproof garage
And join your noble leader's entourage
Chant blue, red or purple, just pay homage
We will be great again in this mirage

Premium Member Every Swing of the Door
I'll never know what from your heart I tore
Each lie I lived, every swing of the door
Not that I hid or kept even the score
Not that I loved anyone anymore
I question what love I was in before
It wasn't like movies, books, or fairy lore
For the rest of my life, on love I'll snore
Rather break a heart--my desire--ignore
A false lover I'll prove--could I be more?

Premium Member I'Ve Lost a Lot of Pie With Biden
Ever since Biden marched in my stocks plump
My gains and nest egg make my shoulders slump
Unfortunately I've lost to that chump
My piece of American pie, a dump
What were five stars is now two dullest lump
I've endured his march of geese on my rump
Yet hope his wild goose chase comes to a stump
Until then I hope some road frees of bump
And tears chill and I get over this hump

Life
Life is not a scrawled hazy fantasy.
We must learn to impress what we fancy.
If we open our fastened jalousie
then maybe, we can explicitly see
that our mind can be wider than the sea.
For sometimes, gleam of bright reality
does not reflect our chosen cup of tea;
It takes far more than what we ought to be
For our rambling captive souls to be free.

Buddha's Smirk
Palm trees and bamboo tower
above me
What grand stature!
Patches of terra uncensored by grass
 Ferns intertwine, creating a
jungle of green
Deceased, arid palm leaves
rest upon a bed of lively shrub
The humid, Hilo air
annoying, yet, a sense of
warm, maternal embrace
surrounds me
Mr. Buddha, he sits, stone still
So patient
Unmolested by the humidity
or the mosquitoes
An ever so slight grin he presents
that says:
"I don't know it all, but I am content."...

Preference, Not Prejudice
Value is personal all cultures through.
Check out the visitors seen in your zoo.
Younger kids love to pet the mama ewe
while teens want to watch baby snake’s debut.
I fancy museums, what about you?
Rate old Muslim mosques found in Timbuktu
with the bear claw necklaces of the Sioux.
Pondering preferences hitherto
contentious prejudice we can subdue.

As Silent As a Graveyard
As I walked into the building,
I was welcomed by an echoing silence,
Like a walk through a ghost land,
I could hear the sound of every step l took,
Nostalgia feelings swept through me,
The amiable embrace of the
the building is gone in the shadows,
Its affable warmth is stolen by life’s midnight,
Its aesthetic, waned and frail.
Sombre notes fill my heart,
The door stands before us,
Life’s twilight awaits everyone.

Premium Member Like Violins In a Marching Band
I hear them on the television,
like I have a choice,
that's flat-out all they show these days:
Politicians
with their elucidations
tangled as Grandma's yarn.
Honest Joe, explicating why I'm beggared;
"It's your own fault, my good friends,
frankly, we need bold solutions"
they boom;
then hike the price of gas.
And the voices of we, the people;
lost
like violins in a marching band.

A Day Out At the Zoo
We rode on a bicycle made for two,
While on vacation, to visit a zoo.
Where we strolled around, enjoying our view.
    Of North America's, wild caribou,
To friendly llamas, from far off Peru.
And an African antelope, the gnu.
Then watching pachyderms, while in the queue,
We observed birds, and a flightless emu.
To big cats and reptiles, farewell adieu.
