Against the Harshest Reality
God gave me the greatest character defects
Inside the harshest reality
I needed to learn that God forgives without

Yonder
Leaning—
To see over far horizons
In waking dreams of the harshest beauty
Distant poundings on the wind
Never forgotten
White and black make gray
Sometimes silver...

Self-Judgement
Sit there and think about it
You are here thinking alone
There is no other judgement
Except that you give yourself

You are your harshest critic
So be gentle and forgive
Say this to yourself often
And move on from
The past which imprisons you.

Storm
the harshest of all inventions
wind machine of origin divine
driving plank through tree trunk
and the animals in the zoo understand

code yellow, orange, red
time remaining: just a shred

deciding what to wear
as the maelstrom cometh
make up your mind
ask the angels...

              Accepted, kept so warm.
So safe from life's harshest storms.

Picture This
The picture is a window to another world
wide open, allowing me to gaze freely into
the distance,
getting lost in the warm blanket of fuzziness
that brings a smile to my face,
finding myself in a shelter from the cold
that blocks even the harshest wind
and withstands even the fiercest of storms....

Premium Member This Red Skin
This red skin, whipped by the harshest wintry wind,
feels colder than the snow of Iceland;
wry thoughts on a gelid night
won't relieve my plight!
January
flee,
don't disagree!
Running and panting
to avoid an avalanche crumbling,
I take giant steps to avert danger...
while this red skin burns deeper than my anger!...

Robbers In Their Den
Robbers in their den:
The harshest of men,
In all ten,
Their boss, terrible Ben!!
Stepbrother of as terrible Ken!!
Now, not with his pistol but confusing pen
Their next operation indicating 'when'
And much persuaded to give it a name
One wouldn't have guessed, nursing mother hen
For his having once favored 'operation wren'...

Change
The only certainty is change!

The harshest night does not endure,
And morning comes not soon but sure.

The only certainty is change!

Awash,
This bit
Of truth still saves.
This rock still lifts above the waves.

The only certainty is change!

If it is sure,
It yet is strange
The hope that ever lives for change.

The only certainty is change!...

V-ictorious journey in life

O-vercome all difficulties,

Premium Member Do As You Are Told Rimas Dissolutas
The harshest words ‘Do as you’re told.’
She must be willing to submit;
Hanging on to every word said
she’ll brim with desire to please;

There’s no need for you to act cold;
I’ll let you in on a secret:
kindness will keep you in her head;
A woman heeds her man with ease;

Feeling loved, safe and protected,
a man will have her on her knees....

Remember To Mind Your Reason
In the darkest of times
be the light of a candle
but the harshest of crimes
to let melt your candle

***
Give, unmindful of a reason
feel the heavy burden light
remember to mind your reason
fill your very soul with Light

Like a delicate dove
bathe into sweet waters well
feed on the seeds of Love

The Longest, Harshest, Meanest Poem Ever Written
It was something
So many words
It rattled on
Like a streetcar
And it was harsh too
It really picked things apart
It made Howl
Seem like a squeak
I can't remember
Who wrote it
I think
It was some guy
From Great Britain
All I remember is that
It was the longest
The harshest
The meanest poem
Ever written

Unhappy Reflection
My harshest critic is the mirror,
Revealing to me...I haven't moved on.
My life has no current of happiness,
Just a stagnant still pond.

I dwell in a lonely atmosphere,
Though surrounded by numerous friends.
I feel the happiness...I once had,
Has came to an untimely end.

A numbness in my emotions,
The haziness never gets clearer.
It's now what people say about me,
My harshest critic is the mirror....

Premium Member Bird House Blues
A bird house attracts the beautiful and divine.
Who offer the soul both a charm and a chime.
Blessing hearts with palette and song.

Along come the rippers and nibblers.
Gleaners of peace they're born to be.
Leaving the heart to hobbled dream.
In skies of robin egg quiet.

Now blistering in twisting silence.
Battling the harshest of seasons.
Amidst winter acorns and peace thieves.
Bird houses filled with dead and dying things....

Misused
My heart was a blank piece of paper
Crisp; clean; untouched
Waiting patiently to be trusted with beautiful words
Written by the warmest hands
Treasured forever like a sweet memory

But you came along and without permission
You wrote the harshest poetry
Cruel thoughts leaving imperfections
Scratches; scribbles; illegible rambles
Like too thick blankets suffocating me

Sadly I have learned
Few people believe in recycling.

January
Something about January
Broods my blood to slush.
A new year's unknowns
Hearkens hope to hush.

It's a dark visage that stuns,
Heritage of Januarys past.
Death calls my loved ones
With winter's harshest blast.

It seems we're trying to cope
By saying "Happy New Year!"
Yet one must toast the hope
That a wish can fight a fear.

But I think—I'm sure I'm right
The Reaper so deathly scary
Will call me an ice-enameled night
In the cold heart of January....

Painted Out the Blues
To paint me in a picture
what colours would you choose
simple pastels lightly brushed
with gentlest sweeping hues
or brashest harshest darkest strokes
that keep me prussian blue
yellow ochre scarlet lake
gamboge davy's grey
raw sienna indian red
just mix them up and play
paint me in a picture
paint me running free
paint me at your easel
paint it now for me
in colours from your palette
in colours that you use
paint for me a picture
and paint me out the blues...

Premium Member Love Blossoms
They were created independently…two flowers..
each other…they did not know.
nurtured by love
by sunshine
and rain
these two flowers began to grow

One day these flowers met…
they fell in love
and they began to grow…together.
They found together they were stronger
and could withstand the harshest weather.

And though they still retain their independence…
they have found a way to blend…
so now, it’s hard to know where one flower begins…
and the other flower ends....
