Bored with urban life, 										
Once I went to my hometown.	
Nostalgic I have become		
Recollecting the thrill					
Of plucking guavas,			
Of having silly fights with friends,	
And adventures in fields.

Friends have an open invitation, dusky sky, soft rock music~
It’s all part of the experience of barbecuing—I Am Anaya


Rustic charred mesquite fired up
Aromatic smoke 
Sweet guavas, fish, steak, grilling
Blazed creamed artichoke
Decadent pastry
Black Velvet
Lime

Once at home,
Sharing yellow/green guavas, 
Grown on tested soil
Across waters,
I stood vulnerable, 
Yet observed...
Such extension caused salivation.

And as I entreat 
With gel of such,
Strangers, 
Familiar pallets, 
Some said, "Cheers!"

I at once 
Was held accountable -
So, I returned 
To pruning and prayed.
My muse's thumb grew greener.
