On Groundhog Day
if Phil sees his shadow, or not,
it's still only six weeks
until Spring equinox!...

I have a song on repeat
Seeing you...
It's from the Groundhog Day musical
It would be amazing to do my best today
And one day wake up...

Groundhog Day
At dusk they arise
Confused at the colour of the sky
People of the night
With no understanding of what is right
Night games is what they play
Reliving life like groundhog day

Premium Member Unlucky Again
Cat shot out - got under my feet
Knocked my sore toe, nearly did weep.

Obscenities shouted through sharp, throbbing pain
Now I am back to limping again.

Groundhog day played back its game
Why am I so unlucky? hmmm. Amen.

All In a Days Work
Cleaning the house
Washing dishes
Cooking dinner
It's all in a day's work

Ironing
Baking
Household chores
It's all in a days work

Outdoor work
Working
Driving
Running errands
It's all in a day's work
Which like, Groundhog Day, occurs, day after day.

Groundhogs are liars, they do not know

If Spring is here or there'll be more snow

So remember Groundhog day

They're just in it for the pay

While they put on their prophetic show

Groundhog Day
A groundbreaking weather struggle has evolved today

over the length of this Year,s chill

Early Spring said Staten Island Chuck

forecasting through the muck

whilst he was disparaged as a quack

by Puxstawney Phil

Whichever rodents predictions fits you best

it might be time to second-guess

whether Puxstawney Phil and Staten Island Chuck

need to take a new meteorologist test!...

After your butterfly alighted my dreams,
I never forgot your kiss,
You became the object of my vespers,
The refuge for my injured toiling chest.
I await your spectacle, your curtain call.
Your fragile teasing dance.
Like Groundhog Day, I predict your fluttering
Wings, the wavy flurry of your bowstrings,
Again and again.
What wonder comes next?
Are you counting down my dreams?...

Premium Member Ground Hog on Groundhog Day
Groundhog promised he would never oversleep again.
On February second they sent out the annoying wren.
He could not rouse groundhog from his slumber.
So Mom and Dad went over, in a wagon-lumber.

They made as much noise as they dared outside.
Finally going into his bedroom and shaking his hide.
Groundhog was irritated and terribly grumpy too.
I think it was certainly brave of them, don’t you?...

Puppy the Chihuahua
You were born fifteen years ago on Groundhog day.
Last night was very sad because you passed away.
You were unique and Puppy was your name.
When you died, it was a damn shame.

You were always friendly, you were never mean.
You were the best Chihuahua that I've ever seen.
It was nice to know that you were special and kind.
You were a great animal and one hell of a canine.

(Dedicated to Puppy who died January 21, 2011.)...

Phil Speaks
Phil speaks

Before the winter sun
can open its eyes,
The legendary Phil
emerges out of its lair,
Members with hats and tuxedos,
Predict the long winter
If he sees his own shadow,

If doesn't see shadow,
early spring is ready to burst forth,
Brings festivities
of food and melody,
Misinterpretation can call for
a death penalty,
February 2nd, the Groundhog Day !
