What is the sound of Fire?
Desires a flame in adorned faces?
Beautiful gratuitous smiles, reminding the wanderer that heaven is real!
And the symphony in his head, speaks wisdom.
Are you able to afford
your fame
Gratuitous wanderings
chasing the flame
What you give up
for what you get back
In debt to the moment
past—future entrapped
(Dreamsleep: January, 2024)
A Gratitude
To go out to grass,
Over and above,
To feel free,
Gratuitous.
A mischief making,
What do: expectations?
A special gratitude,
To an exponential,
After its kind,
Kingdom will come,
A dream of kindred,
To lay down a path.
So many wept at his smoked burial to celebrate he’s escaped forever
Epitaph in garbled words is upside down and slender like our Trevor
Joke is on extra wide marble tomb he’s dead stoned as we remember
‘Laugh bring me weed and write graffiti for my gratuitous surrender’
13th April 2019
Alone and vulnerable like a lovely wildflower
Wild and wanton in the winds whisper
Colourful yet so fragile in intimate weather
Enjoying the solitude yet craving placacement
Washed anew with each gratuitous rainfall
Flourishing and growing just for us all
No care no need to prepare just to be there . . .
Audacious individuals lack sound judgment
Blow-hard opinions vastly inflates ego
Confidence is exceedingly overwhelming
Delusions of grandeur are clearly evident
Engaged in destructive selfish behavior
Factitious self-importance dilutes potential
Gratuitous toxic actions contaminate the collective consciousness
Hedonistic mindset hinders humanity
On yonder strand
In bridled land
A motley band
With vigor fanned
Across hill, lowland
With self righteous brand
Seeking brigand contraband
From each licentious hand
To forthrightly remand
Every highway spanned
Tolls, tribute to demand
Each pilfering cleric did reprimand
Then every bloated collection was
panned
Every royal vestige scanned
Gratuitous coffers to expand
The statement of valediction was given
But nobody ever attended the farewell
Left me like maim indefensible
The sense of tranquility was never there
But watching you fall-asleep
Made my insomniac nights serene
The process of forgetting was always hard
But remembering you was gratuitous
Placed melancholy to me
The connotation of love was blur
But that glare of your eyes
Framed me in infatuation
Disgrace
Surrounded by adulations, you flaunt your expectations.
Undue repercussions, desiring gratuitous acknowledgement of your affluence and good fortune.
Reminders of turbulent open tribulations, slamming the door and watching you crestfallen as you fall from grace.
What you call a miracle intervention when really you should do penance for the chaos unleashed.
Pedantic overflow snuffs out my exhilaration.
Is my preoccupation really but a side effect of my own disgrace?
She is cool, straight-backed, circumspect. She doesn’t ooze emotion. She orders green eggs and lamb, and lets the joke speak for itself, not offering a gratuitous laugh. Relentless in her pursuit of authenticity. She is seduced by the obvious. Using her stature to reshape the way the world sees itself, to reflect images that have always been present but weren’t being looked at. Her roots are strong, which is why she flies. She knows where she comes from and uses that to see the world.
