There is a COVID-19 ghost
Who flits around from coast-to-coast
He loves to zoom
Around a room
To see whom he infects the most
Give up the ghost
release the pain
free yourself from the chains
let go if the weight
All that holds you down is you
trying to live as others
let go
their ideas are nothing
Be yourself
fly
shine as bright as the sun
your life is the entertainment of others
Form:
Glorious Rapture
Glorious Death
In a twinkling
One last breath
Incorrupt Temple
Earthly Host
Immortal Body
Give up the Ghost
In the sky
By the Sword
With living saints
For the word
Experience Change
Wake from Sleep
Last to appear
First to see
The coming Christ
The sake of Christ
From life to life
From death to life
In a twinkling
One last breath
Glorious Rapture
Glorious Death
Give up the ghost, my love, my life—
And return my kiss into light.
Breathed of you, I’ll exhale back—
Clasp the chivalry of lack.
My life, my love, for you was an endless need
For you on my heart to always feed.
Your wings still flit in my chest—
When I sleep I cannot rest.
By night is when I heard your gift's choir
That bled away the ragged hours.
Something took you and pillaged my home—
I’m hung back by my shadow alone.
She is a monster inside my brain,
Her eyes are smaller than an atom,
They are filled with blue poison,
Destroying my soul with just a glance.
So miniature and painful she is,
Her hands are small sausages that strangle.
The V shapes on her becomes an I,
Making everything look so dire.
You're not a person, you're not a girl,
Your presence kills me, one and all.
I want to thrill you inward to death,
Give up the ghost, give up your life.
Form:
Time for time to tell,
Speak of death profound;
Glimpse of mystic grounds,
Squeeze out life to dwell.
Space for space to host,
Taste how death makes known;
A full circle shown,
Now give up the ghost.
Feel for feel that heals,
Death frames old attire;
Watch old life retire,
Heal old will that spills.
Rhyme for rhyme be still,
Transcend this harsh toil;
Pleasure blooms grand soil,
Death brings fond goodwill.
