"I love you as much as
A billion dollars or more.
I wish you a Merry Christmas,
My favorite Mom! Xoxo."
Marissa Faries
Circa 2004 (Age: 10)
A poem I wrote on a Christmas greeting card to my mother.
Once upon a summer day
in a land
far far away
in meadow fields
where faries play
a girl child
not one of the fey
somehow
did find her way
to where the
shining unicorns lay,
and in that magical place
she did stay
for a golden
summer day.
6/17/2013
led through the strangest valley
and forest this eve
with snickering, horned, little
phosphoresent faries
carried by cellulose
to my cornea
wicked and vile winged creatures
swept around my vicera until
I remembered it was just a
movie.
Form:
"Mom and Dad I love you.
Because your like doves.
You are the greatest parents
That a girl could have.
Mom you a are sweet
Like a dolphin.
Dad you are handsome
Like a gentleman.
I love you. Xoxo."
Marissa Faries
Circa 2003 (Age: 9 Years Old)
Dedicated to my parents.
Tiny and small
they fly around.
Hoping to find a place to call home.
Not good enough for the heavens above
and too good for the devils home.
These creatures continue to roam.
Far and wide they are known
With the stories they have to share.
Fairies are everywhere.
Tiny feet scamper across dewy seas
Firefly eyes dart amidst blades of dark green
Moonlight shines softly on faces that tease
Tiny feet scamper across dewy seas
Bopping and hoping between limbs of trees
Teeny folk dancing that no one has seen
Tiny feet scamper across dewy seas
Leaving no footprints to tell where they've been
Along the path,
a hopper's song
slashes of yellow
feathered thoughts~
Along the path,
a slice of red
green scented heaven
a flowered dance~
Aside the path,
a faries brook
queen ann's lace
has found her rook~
Aside the path,
the clover walks
a mossy stone
to guide the lost~
At paths end
a burning lot,
of ogre croak
and texting snot.
A slow death marinated.
In half-prayer and long goodbyes.
So much suffering on this cobblestone of lies.
To think it all began with a silky lullaby.
The Faries and unicorns soon drift from our lives.
Replaced by tarry intentions.
Oozing from cinderblock faces.
Bridges of hope undercut by trolls.
Silky dreams slip into eclipse.
The suns last breath kisses the necrosed lips of our nothingness.
A world filled with fun and laughter
A place where butterfilies is what you chase after
It's a place in the night
No one knows where it hides
It's also a place in the day
Where you can go to pray
Memories and Fantasies
Castles and Kingdoms everywhere
Light and Dark
Love and Peace
Where the king wears a crown
And Dragons fly all around
Faries sparkle all about
This is a place where your imagination goes all out!
Form:
A virgin wish, coupled with passion-a spray of luck-ambition,
can be foundation for sparkling things...
a first flight -a newborn cry
Gracefully treading nightmares in black finned nights.
Turning a death rattle into melodies in pearl
strung along the gilded wings of infinity.
A greying wish is an opaque endeavor.
It lends the hands to idling
creasing the satin of reality.
Old wishes dangle wearily from the ceiling
like dying Faries in a cobweb dream.
Your light
Glowing from your heart
With all that you held dear
Now as bright as your smile
Healthy with no fear
Show me the way
I need to go
Be my heavenly fairy
My lovely Rachel
Your life, like looking in a mirror
Your life, like looking in a mirror
My lovely Rachel
Be my heavenly fairy
I need to go
Show me the way
Healthy with no fear
Now as bright as your smile
With all that you held dear
Glowing from your heart
Your light
