Cobweb Wishes

A bucket of passion-with a spray of ambition.
Can be a foundation for sparkling things...
A first flight -a college degree, a newborn cry.

Gracefully treading nightmares in black-finned nights.
Turning a death rattle into melodies in pearl.
Strung along the gilded wings of infinity.

A greying wish is an opaque endeavor.
It lends the hands to idling.
Creasing the satin of reality.
Old wishes dangle wearily from the ceiling.
Like dying Faries in a cobweb dream.

Dear Anthony, your potent and poignant imagery paints a vivid portrait of "cobweb dreams". I especially enjoyed "black finned nights" and "death rattle into melodies in pearl/strung along the gilded wings of infinity" and your last two lines for a breathtaking finale. Superb! Congratulations for your win in Craig's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

I'm glad you enjoyed it Susan, I thought it could have been polished up a bit more, but I have a lazy streak and just tossed it into the ring. God bless Anthony
