Premium Member Failure To Start
I would love to write for you,
An epic poem about something new.

Every time I search my mind,
There’s nothing new that I can find.

So, I’ve penned some rhyming drivel.
But, before you whine, scoff, and snivel.

Pay attention to the wisdom I now impart.
The greatest failure of man; is the failure to start!...

Be Patient (Choka)
Await my return
For I shall ride with the wind
On a ship of dreams

I shall come to you my love
We’ll have paradise
On earth for ever after

I am resolute
In my approach for your love
So fear not today

We shall join hands eternal
From us will spring forth, new life

Leader (Choka)
She’s on white stallion
Bareback sitting properly
Providing beauty

As she passes by my tent
Leaving me breathless
As she is now the sunlight

That brightens my days
I see her riding, always
To the front of camp

She is the lady gen’ral
I’ll follow her to my death

Sedoka of the Albigensian Song
Will of Tudela
Whose zeal burned for the white wolves
Against Languedoc's black lambs

Nameless soul of gold
Guided by heaven's muses
Pitied the southern pastures

Poem inspired by The Song of the Albigensian Crusade, a medieval epic poem written by two authors who had contrasting views of the crusade (explored in this Sedoka poem)....

A Heart of Bliss
If your heart harbors Bodhi,
You can become a Buddha,
If your heart harbors purity,
You shall soar o'er wicked Mara,
If your heart abides by Sila,
You may master the Dharma,
And if you are met with dilemma,
Crave not and turn it into Prajna!

Don'T Like Free Verse
How sad a flow of words
  that doesn't seem to go.
Can't feed the meter, rhythm or rhyme
at a loss is what I find.
Free Verse is not your thing
but for me it flows like streams in spring.
On occasion comes the matching words
but I often struggle with what you haven't heard.
I try all types, the sonnets, the romantic ballads,
the epic poem, the limerick, the haiku hype
but alas I always end up there
free verse wrote with words to spare....

Compare and Contrast
"Into Eternity
  Where all is one
There crept a tiny mad idea
At which the Son of God
     Remembered not to laugh"
 - ACIM

 Beckon fraternity
  As I have none
They leapt into my sacred shadow
     The even and the odd
       Revered on my behalf
 - For Him

(ACIM stands for A Course in Miracles which is written as an epic poem in iambic pentameter
style by a woman named Helen Schucman in 1976. Strictly speaking she scribed it but that's
been debated)....
