The mural on the wall,
Traces of human experience,
Embraces the heart and foundation of this speck in the universe and
Elicits questions asked of men from all ages.

Premium Member Destination Known

The path is shady
    the gait, shaky
  Destination known
    elicits a moan

  Tried to turn back
    behind me all black
  The only way, forward
    to the vast sea, shoreward

Untitled #10 / a Chill Breeze

A chill breeze makes hairs stand on end,
a disgraceful moment elicits a sigh.
In the realm of the universes
where did the student stand?
Grounded within reality, or
falling into the self?

Infatuation

Another thought elicits it's
familiars
Crowding their weight into the
chamber
Of my weary, doleful mind

What right does he possess
To exhaust my idle time
By way of his enslaving image.

Of All Places To Be

Within the stillness one can hear etudes
from the birds that evoke a morning rise,
tranquil are the streams that glide by
ferns quiver from the touching breezes
quietness elicits and stirs full vibes
which infers that nature is truly a place for solace.

Epoch of Dis-Ease

Merchant of moments
Peddling the past
A hourglass high
A present that never lasts

Slave to silience
Disguising the deceit
A tongued tied echo
A truth that's never discrete

Time may beget actuality
Expectation elicits emotion
A tacit torture
A sensation that's never chosen

Exasperatingly eccentric extrovert elicits cousin’s calls.
Fabulous forward fashions formulated in front of Niagara Falls.
Generating generous patrons because Dennis has the galls.
Honoring Herbert’s handsome handouts, he lurks in designer halls.

Aflame

To everyone's surprise
The world is terrifying.
From that one thing you did
That was just a bit too intense today
To that stranger on the subway
That looked at you a little too hard.
Everything you can see elicits that
Oh god, oh no, oh god
Beating of the heart in someones rib cage.
Do you think we're all just waiting
For the fluttering to set us Aflame?

Premium Member Doom Is Brewing

Are you aware of Death's true name? How can I verify his name's veracity? What entices him to the heart of his being? He's been dubbed "Dread" Others have pranked Inevitable, As of yet, these are only names. You'll notice if you're cautious, Motivation elicits his real name. Carry on with your life utterly wary. Not far away, doom is brewing.

Swarming Darkness

Deep in slumber he stole her conscious,
Nightmares commanded tears.
She awakes plummeting into wickedness,
Why must her awareness be so deceitful?
A systematic cue floods her senses.
She drops recklessly into weakness.
Yearning for agony to perish,
She will sob with aspirations to reclaim her soul.
She craves the skill to identify what elicits her visions
Is love really a mind over matter situation?

Premium Member Angels Don'T Fly

Angels won’t fly and often cry when mortal love is felt above. It hurts inside to be denied racked with the pain sad hearts contain. As teardrops grow and feelings show, a slow-burn flame elicits shame. Love is so near they shed a tear and weeping eyes wet cloudy skies. Droplets of rain fuel their pain until sunlight restores their flight. (Rhyme) 3/19/2015

Importance of Memories

The sting of death elicits tears
from those it leaves behind,
and creates an emptiness
that cannot be defined !

The memories, both good and bad,
forever will remain
in the corners of their mind,
relieving them from pain !

So don't wait until tomorrow
to open up your heart
because you never know
how soon you'll be apart !

Wouldn't it be sad to have
no memories at all...
to go through life
with nothing to recall ?

In the Bookstore

In the bookstore; need a gift.
Choices do abound.
Spend an hour in the aisles,
Looking all around.

Hard to tell what would appeal;
The present’s for a baby.
Though his shelves are empty now,
Each book elicits “Maybe.”

So I stand there, skimming through
The shiny cardboard pages,
Wondering if this or that
Will be one that engages.

Finally, I make a choice
As patience starts to dwindle.
All I hope is that as yet,
He doesn’t own a Kindle!

Premium Member Making a Small Difference

My little charge is dear to me,
He barely hears and cannot see
Born with challenges of every kind
A more adorable kid you cannot find

He breathes with difficulty and cannot eat
His daily existence is a tremendous feat
But he has a sweetness that is so rare
He elicits love for all to share

In the scheme of daily life I know
No laurel wreaths on me bestow
But a small difference I think I make
For in his life great pride I take.

Much Maligned

A foul odor seeps into the nostrils
bypassing the standard sensory process
And darting straight for the brain
It elicits the memories
that once thought to be extinguished
Bringing former passions to the forefront of a hesitant mind
A mind that is weary, ravaged by time
and ill-equipped to absorb such recollection

Unable to suppress the torment
that accompanies excruciating reminders
The tortured mind bleeds out
and the body falls to the ground
