All For None
Crashing down
a wave unseen
shattered pieces of foam
fill the air
with torment of hurt,
anger, despair
hanging loose in a foggy sky
to reach the shore
and ebb away
only to be seen
another day....

I do not know?
Dark Night of the Soul
Plateau after peak, double checks ego
Does our childlike trust seem to ebb away
Why is the glow of our heart not mellow
Plateau after peak, double checks ego
What desires self-block pristine stillness slow
Be wary, oh hermit; attention sways
Plateau after peak, double checks ego
Does our childlike trust seem to ebb away

Path of bliss
Seeds planted take time to grow,
so it’s best we take life slow,
that our heart lotus may bloom,
feeling bliss magnetism zoom.
There’s nothing we need to do,
save letting bliss beats renew,
mindful of thought, word and deed,

Longing
First love never dies away
Just slowly calms to cool
Yet for me loving you has been
A constant, I’m a fool.
Loving you can hurt so much
It’s painful and confusing
And honestly I don’t know how
To stop my heart from bruising
I told you that I loved you
Too many years ago
I thought the love would ebb away
Instead it proves to grow.
Seeing you again was such
A trigger to my heart
I cannot stop from loving you
Yet still we are apart....

2020 Farewell
2020
The sands are running out
falling just outside our grasp
seemingly out of reach,
distant and taunting as they pass.
Closing our eyes we mockingly mourn
these last whimpers of time's fleeting
unrecoverable stolen moments.
Woefully beseeching a fickle god
for relief of our doubts, our fears,
our unanswerable questions
and unanswered prayers.
The grains of life ebb away
uncounted, seeping through
the groping fingers of now.
