Premium Member downcast downtrodden down in the mouth house
downcast, downtrodden, down-in-the-mouth house
not perky enough for a raccoon or a mouse
was passed over quickly by Lee Ann’s spouse
Buying this monstrosity would make him a louse....

Ill winds are blowing, things are turning south It's a sign of the new order, we're all down in the mouth But there's bright days ahead Not yet ready for a deathbed Next election, we'll surely be cleaning house

If you’re ever a bit down in the mouth,
Or even feeling just a little bit blue,
One thing you can rely on is,
I’ll always be there for you.

And if you feel in a bit of a hole,
Even if it’s one which you have dug,
You know you can rely on me to –
Give you a reassuring hug …...

Premium Member Tidings
positivity in voice,
mannerism, mollycoddling
may bring tidings
up from down-in-the-mouth
to a weak grin
     if that doesn’t work
perhaps, a little gin,
olive plops,
fizz fizz,
a little sun, a little breeze
wings flapping…
     just
omitting, oblivious,
staring straight ahead
     tethered
to fair-weathered feathers,
free-and-queasiness of tears

Dizzy Sixty Nine
She agreed I knew the position smelt,
Assured we grappled at each others pelt
I got the iced cup to crack and melt
And she enlivened hardness I felt.

On top she fans her awakened lust
Down under I mouth the dripping thrust
Grounded to roll and infuriate the crust
Gurgles and suckles become a must.

We break the barriers to flood and tame;
Realigned numbers play the matching game....

Lodge Fire
Something was igniting between us.
At first I fought off the flames because I know what it feels like when the air gets too much and I wasn’t ready to be choked again.
So I held my breath for as long as I could, but even I couldn’t deny that this fire was becoming indistinguishable
So I took my hand down from my mouth.
Quickly I became engulfed in the flames and
All I could do now was to allow myself to let you in
and hope that I’d make it out alive....

     Bare, bony fingers probe
       nature’s naked cupboard

     Nary a morsel seen
       nutrition confined to dreams

December winds howl o’er barren ground
        January storms muffle all sound

February thaws gurgle whispers of hope
        Crushed by March, snowdrifts abound

Bears in hibernation, birds down south
We humans alone, down in the mouth …

     One glimpse of Robin redbreast
        ~ no longer depressed
