There once was a man who loved garlic dill
Holding them in his hand gave him a thrill
Doorknobs are fermented
With garlic tormented
His wallet and all of his precious bills ...

Freemantle
The doorknobs were rusty
My hopes ran dry
Where does the time go
When we're all alone

Doorbells and permissables
A dent of occasion
Dentures and talking
Come easy along

Miss you nights
when tadpoles go swimming
Lust and egos
are the height of fashion...

On Hold
I have been waiting without knowing,
my breath curled like a child
in the wardrobe of my lungs.
I have been waiting,
my hands resting idly on doorknobs, windowsills,
on the blankets of a bed still made,
staring at the bright, young globe of the sun,
staring without hope....

Doors On Fire
Being a recluse,
I have lost track of sun’s hues
and the flavor of meadows
in snow. Bronze doorknobs are cold,
frozen like my rusty, numb thoughts.

Must I remember

to haunt those bleeding midnights,
when tears flooded a room
opening doors with shots of fire.

The Door
Behind the door,
Lay your shattered tears in seafloor,

Pardon my betrayal outdoor,
My heart wandered away indoor,
Through the trap door,

Never let this guy indoor,
She recalled his spoor,
Washing the floor,

Broken doorknobs,
A love stopped to a hidden doorsill,
He laments in the dooryard.

Doorways dispersed the doorstops...

Crying her heart, a home withoutdoors,
Dead as a doornail......

Virus
Like orbs from other galaxies
They float
Clutching at air to scout out
Another host
An unwelcome visit
Vulture like
And unforgiving,
Photos etched into memories
Appear moment by moment,
The internet engraves
The virus
Into the minds of all...
And now we ponder
Supreme inevitability
As we wipe the grocery stores clean,
Buffering
Against what is to come
Waiting behind Lysol scrubbed doorknobs
As yesterday’s hum of humanity
Becomes a new sound of silence....
