Listen to poem:
Fish dewatered delicious
is sucked dry with salt
its flesh assaulted
rung out, and dried stark stiff.
Wishes like fishes rise in expectation
that hopes and dreams will flourish
but knock-backs, rebuffs and rejections
desiccate dreams with onslaught of salt,
shrivelling wishes, wizen to salt wish.
Hold on!
Hold on a little longer
Please don't burn to ashes and desiccate
Hold on a little longer
Because this is not yet enough for us
Like long starry nights, beneath a star's fall
A child dreams home, home of happiness
And if the word 'forever' was my life;
"I would have wished for you"
Forever to be drowning in love..
Rendered seed concealed in Love's nest
Tendered sapling fondling mother's breast
Adolescent twig fluttering with pubescent zest
Immature leaves on mating quest
Maturing frond passing coupling test
Cherished branches sprout; hearth's bough dressed
In due time, seasoned fruit; perpetuity's crest
Stale, desiccate limbs; vitality's inquest
When you are in your emotional healing journey
You need a moral support than criticism
I have learned that the culprits
are the closest to you,
These souls could suck out life out of you
And leave you to desiccate and still condemn you.
Hold on
Don't give up
The process might be alien to you
But you are making a progress because you have
Identified the bad seed.
Be healed.
Shed on that certain kind of warmth
You give the waters that washed away our footsteps
Illumine the dark leaves of our past
Blown away by the indifferent breeze.
Desiccate the grass that invited conversations
But leave the roots unscorched.
I prayed to Autumn to blow away my pains
But Winter entertained me instead.
I won’t let Spring visit me
Until you burn down her cold heart, Summer.
Inevitable Transformation
Despite human lust to remain human in all
aspects and norms
Timelessness will desiccate primeval bones
then alter sentient forms...

Memories became trapped in the shade of an eclipse,
Light that they once held gone, buried in feelings of transgressed sin.
All hope bled out of me through the scars in which you had left.
Slowly my heart started to shrivel and desiccate from within.
*”Exposed in Darkness.” is a four-line verse taken from my original poem, “The Falling.” Date: December 2nd, 2020. Intended for the entry of the Liberum Divisa 3 contest.*
can it be, equanimity the antidote
a life unexamined, is a life not worth living
self-absorption hears the drum of one
it an ego-driven malfunction
wrong reality rapt in silent adagio
the sponge soaks the water and cannot desiccate
your desires alone illusory, arrogance
leading to aversion, not to confuse with self-love
Oyez soliloquy! (gavel strikes) so hence
primal love you claim to defend—a chimera
