My Heart Flutters
I see her wink
My heart flutters
She bats her eyelashes
My knees are butter
Sultry, she strolls toward me
O, sublime, supreme ecstasy --
She deigns to speak, "Prithee,
Who you staring at, retiree?"...

Happy Birthday Jackie Marie
Rhyme Royal - Iambic Pentameter
Here's my cup, Jackie Marie, happy day.
It's time to raise our toast and honor thee.
Drink we that life's good fortune goes your way,
and Kismet deigns e'er thy walk trouble free.
We're wishing thy heart be filled o're with glee!
Sing we an old song sweet this day for you.
Our voices raised are many no small few....

Tragic Fool
You speak as if you want indeed
To be without in truth his rule
Yet act as if he you do need
Escaping not and you the fool
He fancies life as if it were
A gift for him a Godly dream
Whilst you and yours the mangy cur
He deigns anoint beneath his stream
It saddens dearly one to see
You wither e'en before your Fall
And fear to witness tragically
You shall escape him ne'er at all...

Pale Moon and Bright Stars
~ Pale moon and bright stars ~
Though I wait for the sun
it's the moonlight
that shines, on silhouettes'
stealthy steps 'neath my sight
The sun sleeps late
in cool northern climes
and when she deigns to ascend
she's on borrowed time
Pale moon and bright stars
panoply of heaven's host
her planets and angel-dust
~ at night do I toast...

Resurrection From the River.
One golden eye glowers, proud Poseidon deigns lift
the scored shards of malice where mere mortals sift.
Becalm unnerved waters, cleanse steel gray to green
before sanity shatters with one glimpse of this scene.
Surge forth healing rivers, bathe stunned souls to heal
Sweep clean filthy flotsam, let no grim grime congeal.
Stout salt of forbearance, restore what had once been
Sure embrace, stalwart prince, lest it happen again....

Light My Fire.
One strident crash of drums,
Fingers race across a carnival organ,
The lean torso
supple in leather,
enfolds the mike stand like a snake.
Apollo deigns to sing to us
of bodies in heat and dying,
and promises delayed too long,
while the amplified strings
lay down tracks for Nirvana.
Soaring, screeching for release,
Their jazzy lines converge and climax.
The ending rumble of the drummer
brings silence. Electric relief....

Prose Poetry
Pslam of a Christian
My Lord is my reliance, sole
He claimed a body that a mother scorned
His termoil testifies me whole
His spirit has me not forlorn
Yet satan deigns to me instruct
My every path must he obstruct
With a ruthless tongue
He devices wrong
And counts upon my every fault
Every virtue to assult
And so I seek my death with zeal
My death like hidden goods I seek
A broken temple bears my sovereign's seal
Son of David mild and meek.
Jesus heal me who am weak....
