Hot Minute

For a hot minute like a cigarette we burned, faded.
You were like nicotine making me feel elated then jaded.
We had fallen in love again until it degraded.

Roses

you take roses, paint them black, then replant them as if they grew that way.
you are the reason we are like this.
our petals fall because you pluck them off us.
if you put us in a dark room, don't blame us for bending over backwards to find light.

Days of the Week

Monday, wake up feeling jaded,
Tuesday, try to see what's true
Wednesday feeling more persuaded-
For Thursday's new point of view
Friday seeming more degraded
Saturday, question what I knew
And Sunday: look what I created!
A week I've sadly misconstrued...

Wrong Doings of Trump

Wrong Doings of Trump

Trump's wrong doings are vastly accumulating,
And results of each one has been humiliating;
Overhead waded;
Also, self-degraded;
Commit more corruption he is contemplating.

Advance

We sprint,
We sprint,
We shan’t tarry within the shadows!
Give us the light.

We were not fabricated
To be degraded,
To be heavily degraded,
And narrow volume of respiration
That these lavender things have invented.
We sprint,
Oh, Lord,
We sprint!
We must rend these shadows,
We must find the light.

Rebekah

loudest was the music from her parties
loudest was her audacity
to come in a town
and challenge the town’s rules
stole neighbor’s dog
and sent a clear message

her degraded reputation
and unnoticed kindness
got her a tag of mad woman
never scared of bringing change
Now a role model
For women in her age

Past To Present

I have been
Abandon
Abused
Afflicted

I have been

I have been
Castigated
Chastised
Confined
Convicted
Corrupted
Criticized

I have been
Damned
Deceived
Defeated
Degraded
Destroyed
Disapproved
Disgraced
Distrusted
Doubted

I am now
Fearing
Harming

Now
Immurement
Limited
Neglected

Where do fallen leaves go before the snow Fallings sliding slithering tutoring spiraling down to the ground Environmental meltdown Decompose composite Frozen solid Covered by snow Bio degraded re-arrange molecules particles Compacted Marsh Covered over by temperature in snow To come back in Spring as grass or rose

Death

In The Realm of His Life Forever as long as it lasts
we move away from the past
and the questions that we never ask
get buried and burned to the ash

We kept trying to make our way
but it degraded into the decay
And tomorrow it never comes
and all that we do is undone

And all that we've made with our hands
slips through our fingers like sand
And into the shadows it fades of and
gets buried beneath the land

FADING PHOTOGRAPHS

FADING PHOTOGRAPHS

Once I thought those sepia tones
Belonged only to a different era
Now, images are on our phones
As quality paper is much dearer

I have albums still gathering dust
With snaps taken many years ago
Always keep them close as I must
Yet how was I supposed to know

Some blurred, and become faded
As memories can also go that way
Over time, quality gets degraded
If only they were right here today

Swallow Hollow

Detection of orbs, orbiting my eyes

Perfection absorbs, and I'm paralyzed

Broken and brittle, split in the middle

She spoke without tittle, spit out a riddle

Follow the hollow, to swallow the hollow

Wallow at every turn

Wallow and swallow, or sorrow tomorrow

Follow or ever burn

Baited, deflated, fated not sated

Orbiting eyes would burn

Hated, degraded, fated not mated

Some boys will never learn

If only you knew

Did you know?

Secrets are like the baby grass on the patch of
Grass next door; they flutter like the wings in the
Small breeze of late Autumn.

They glitter like the sand on the beach under the
Aurora last night; and they sleep like fairies under
Small mushrooms in the hidden forest.

If only you knew…

How many secret bookmarks were filed in my book,
And how many degraded, teared apart and
Fluttered away in the wind.

Divine Humanity

Ravaged by time and circumstance
Degraded by society
Left with nothing to grasp
But a sense of hopelessness
This cycle continues without opposition
Unless we utilize the greatest human power
The power that enables us to overcome pain
The power that makes contentment possible
The power that allows for forward progression
The power that's often attributed to God,
but that also lies within every human being
The power to forgive

Lost Lonely Girl

Lost lonely girl needle in her arm
Trapped in her world of addiction
Using her body to pay her way
To numb her pain and affliction

Sick and infected body and mind
Beauty since faded
Teeth now black or gone
Filthy, ashamed ,degraded

Surrendered herself to this deadly drug
It’s slowly consumed her soul
Each day she slipped further away
Her life succumbed to that big black hole

Lost lonely girl…….now just another statistic!

Vermin Decamp

Rats and cockroaches
have moved to the country.

The city is overrun with unsanitary humans,
it needs a clean cloth to thrive upon,
not the dishcloth grime
of much degraded minds.

It is a disgrace, a black mark
upon an already uncivil civilization,
however, the rats and cockroaches
are vacationing and will not return
to the metropolis

until the trash in the streets
is sanitized of mankind's
indifference and lack of interest.

Desired Answers

You played her for a fool
You used her as a tool
You degraded her self-worth
You lied to her for mirth
You spit upon her being
Never even thinking of her leaving
You doubted her strength and soul
You believed you made her whole
Even though you knew you were wrong
It was expected of her to stay strong
That her is I
The one you always wanted to never fly
And now I sit here
Wondering if you will fully understand what you let pass you by

Effortlessly

The bough that cracks in midnight sleeping,
split from tree and hurled toward the stony earth,
struck by lightning, forked and sweeping,
burned to ashes, stripped of worth.

The rock that dreams in ocean hollows,
by salt abrasive water broken to a grain of sand,
a microcosmic state which follows
insubstantial of dry land.

My love is stoic, never shifting,
unlike the sand or degraded bark of tree,
it is yours alone, resolute and uplifting,
gloriously given...effortlessly.

Degraded

Say what you want in defense, but this is how I feel
You invalidate my feelings to the point that its unreal...
Ive been in bad relationships before too..
But honestly no one is as standoff-ish as you.
Everyday that goes by I feel less and less
Walking on eggshells constantly I just have to guess
Guess what mood you will be in today
Or will you be unhappy over this or that..I just cant say..
You never smile or laugh around me
You know how degrated i feel? Yet you will never see
