Lost Lonely Girl

Lost lonely girl needle in her arm Trapped in her world of addiction Using her body to pay her way To numb her pain and affliction Sick and infected body and mind Beauty since faded Teeth now black or gone Filthy, ashamed ,degraded Surrendered herself to this deadly drug It’s slowly consumed her soul Each day she slipped further away Her life succumbed to that big black hole Lost lonely girl…….now just another statistic!

Hi Deb, this poem is gut-wrenchingly filled with reality and truth of the scourge of drug usage in a most poetically pleasing manner. It deserves a considerably wider audience. Write on, Terry
