In passing, hearts risk their very essence, their colors, their breathe,
Love who touched the soul, then moved on, toward heaven’s hungry light,
Souls soon reflect the love and peace found when passing into God’s light

DEATH Distant bird calls echoed in the silent hills, Evening’s crimson light illuminates the fields, A small child dances under the autumn moon. The world lives on with the dawning of each day. How is it that the pain is still in my heart? By Josehf Lloyd Murchison

Things To Resolve Before the End of Time
things to resolve before the end of time

as I get older
I realize
that there are many things
left undone
in this life
of mine
many things left
to resolve
before my time
on this world
comes to an end
but the one thing
that will never end
is my love for you

This Is Hell
Around, all around, the angels gather.
My dread grows as the Dark One's touch falls against my
heart. It wounds me, and darkly my
blood drips to the fallen despairing leaves.
In unholy terror I beg forgiveness
while Death's shadow surrounds me
Now alone, my cascade of tears falls upon dead eyes.
This is Hell...

Premium Member That Fatal Year

2023 brought sorrow that broke me. Death defeated thoughts who say we’re unshakable, stronger than death. We want to think the end, for us – for our people, is inconceivable. Yet, death calls and we must answer. It refuses to be snubbed. This year brought more personal dealings with death than I care to remember!

A Witch's Trial
Death is what they say.

To a witch in the dark times.

She cried when they gave her sentance.

but they didnt care.

Her heart sank down low as they broungth the pole.

The towns people screamed for her to die.

they thought she was evil but they were wrong.

A death was sentance to an innocent girl in the dark times...

Death
I held the dark night as my companion
Close to my chest
My jaw clenched
When they let me go
I just had my skin and my bones
To call home
Slowly it would decay,
with death
It was unsophisticated
To scream from my grave
I lay still
For stillness to take my soul away
For darkness to consume my breath
I prayed to vanish in thin air
But it was still
Every little thing
Waiting for me to sleep....

Isolation Blues
Isolation Blues

During these trying times
we huddle at home
afraid to go out
afraid of the dreaded
General Corona that is out
and his evil secret armies
keeping us all at home
terrified of becoming a victim
a corona virus statistic
what a way to go out
no way do I want to end my life
to out out that way
so we will endure this day
these isolation blues

writers digest Isolation Blues...

The Queen of the Drowned I
Sinking down into the Atlantic’s depths,
I watch dark bodies drown.
Wails transform into bubbles,
Salty water suffocating lungs.
Seawater or tears, it could be either one.
These tossed bodies are mine to claim.
My subjects, my people, the discarded.
They can not survive within the ocean,
Thus they are to drown.
Here they are thrown over a ship’s side.
Since no one wants them, they’ll be mine,
For I am the Queen of the Drowned....

Skeleton
Thin Kin
by Michael R. Burch

Skeleton!
Tell us what you lack...
the ability to love,
your flesh so slack?

Will we frighten you,
grown as pale & unsound...
when we also haunt
the unhallowed ground?
