Death

I held the dark night as my companion Close to my chest My jaw clenched When they let me go I just had my skin and my bones To call home Slowly it would decay, with death It was unsophisticated To scream from my grave I lay still For stillness to take my soul away For darkness to consume my breath I prayed to vanish in thin air But it was still Every little thing Waiting for me to sleep.
