Gentler Than My Usual
To pick the rose
that shimmers brightest
at first sight,
be prepared;
for that is the fastest fleeting
of them all.

Let it go when needed,
even after it grows attached
so that its deadness
does not spread to you
and become your own....

Still I Feel a Need To Follow
The darkness calls for me and in the trees i hear it whisper
ever so softly
it knows me by name now
it understands my pain and it promises me no more misery
swears it will take me away from this disenchanted existence that has forever
denied me satisfaction
denied me life
i take it's sweaty hand and i follow
into the deadness
eternally
into nothing...

Standing Stones
They grow out of our minds.
They excavate the past
with the jaw bones of concussed elks,
time is not in them,
it is only we who shimmer then disappear.

Wind and a cold moonlight
carves them still.
They are the blunt teeth
of an endless angry sky.

The undead
deadness of their weight
anchors the soil
keeps it from flying away.

If we let them they will ask of us,
lead us to recall the dust
in our green bones....

Deadbeat
No rhythm or life within my head
Silent mind
darkness eyes
Still and quiet below God's skies
Thunderstorm
gentle rain
has quickly taken 30 years of wretched pain
No meter or 1/2 time
just a deadness all around this tragic aging mind
Feel free to end ME
there is nothing more for these pupils to see
Life is old
The muse is void
deadbeat of ears
not for the living or self-employed
Just
an
epitaph
to
a
dismal and final death...

Frankenstein's Monster
Take the dead;
use their parts
to make a wretch,
this morbid art—
Frankenstein, Frankenstein!
You are to blame
for the deadness
in your heart.

Great scientists
applaud you,
what— because you
play a god!
Frankenstein, Frankenstein!
Broad paths
are better
left untrod.

Look in the mirror;
See the true beast!
You are the nightmare
stealing your sleep!
Oh, Frankenstein;
The self is the
monster that haunts
you—haunts me....

Awaiting Her Company Again
I am concious 'til sunrise
Breathing and losing control
My anxiety gets the better of me
Nipping at my heels like paranhas
Oh how I miss her touch already
Only a few miles between us
Not an ocean can seperate us
Nor the deadness of space
She'll always be with me
The catch is I must live through the night
I can make it through this
Live and bleed throught this
Tomorrow's only a day away
But tonight is the night I must suffer
To have her grace my sights again...
