Premium Member The End of An Empire

Mr. Justin Smollett
Has nary a regret
He concocted a most egregious hoax
But won't apologize to us flummoxed folks

Bull Market

Trump Savings & Loan is a joke
Concocted by some Russian bloke
Although it may seem
An investor's dream
The management team is Stone-Broke!

Just Be

Time, a fancy thing
Concocted to distract the mind
With idle trickery
Then and now
When and where
A question of reality
There is only here
Always here
Always now
Just BE

Human Beings

How quickly life passes by
We wonder who we are
How we fit in
We are small, mobile creatures on two legs
Foraging, we use an odd mixture of concocted
shorthand
to communicate
And often to miscommunicate

Premium Member Eggnog

Early settlers loved it
 Easily concocted
 Eggs, milk, mixed with sugar
 Enhanced by some fine rum
 Elixir of yuletide
Egged on by brews of nog -
 Enjoy Christmas parties!

Bring Your Alibis On Board

Bring your alibis on board
Your defense is death
And your life is limber
Time terminates your time here
As the earth swallows you up
In your shallow grave
I’m digging for dirt
To place over your concocted coffin

Pleasure In Possibilities

Writing my prose,
unmeasured.
Sometimes I try poesy,
another pleasure.
Untrained. Unskilled.
But, what a joy!
to freedom,
my thoughts I find.
And so, as day by weeks
would turn into a lifetime, could be
the possibilities concocted by gods
may be.

Premium Member I Have So Little Time

I have so little time
It seems
I wake up half way through
My dreams

Awake I fear not
Demon screams
But those concocted
By pre-teens

Or worse
The subtle facial memes
Of ever changing
Toddler schemes

Then with stealth
I spring the trap
A story told
Before a nap

Premium Member Panglossian Exuberance

Listen to poem:
Seeds sprout roots and shoots
on barren ground and fertile fields alike.
Indiscriminately rash,
with no probe of prospect forthcoming.
Zest and zeal denies diligence in dalliant dash
   to proliferate at a rate,
   that cons concocted gains
in the game of natural selection.

Pillowed

Beneath the putter
of December skies
twists the Magus,
who floats on dreams
concocted by
mortal lies
ensnared
in flecks
shed from
fear.

Such
wondrous
bounties
consume
vital tissue,
disbursing all
pure matter squeezed
through ecology
like fees tendering
lost gifts precious.

Premium Member Morning Musings

Morning Musings Miracle Man 1/2/2025 Morning thoughts drift, seeking guidance or direction. Unsure of destination, they fend off deflection. Hoping 2025 will be as tasteful, as some newly concocted confection. Also, thoughts that might tempt, are quickly met with rejection.

Tea For Two

she spoke of two in metaphor
consequence and heretofore
laced her pouring bawdy brew
with a sweetened blinding cue

mesmerized
she hypnotized
dancing emerald eyes
trapped me with her wily guise

we drank a tepid tea for two
concocted by a crafty shrew
sweaty salty we both withdrew
bidding a sweet adieu
Form: Rhyme

Pixelated Poetry

Pixelated poetry,
these trapped little bits
Manufactured in the silence,
concocted, badly fit

Sound of feigned defiance
with surplus ablated
Or surreal with cold intention,
reality choked, castrated

Making simple complex,
floating on minds stream
With deliberate circumvention,
billion corks bobbing in my dream

Premium Member Aunt Shays Crap Dolls

My aunt Shay was creative, inventive and fun.
She made dolls for us out of scraps of our clothes.
It was terrific to see what she concocted and constructed.
She could make things out of ribbons, yarn, bits of nothing.
She was clever and playful, and the dolls reflected it.
She had the personality and the childlike qualities of a pixie.

Make Mine a Double

This chemical cocktail
with neurotransmitters
pinging and bathing in sweet serotonin
like honey gone melted
transcended, eccentric
compulsory eyes are concocted and bent
Henna tattoos
from a black bellied bowl
still glittering red, crushing dust in the lungs
Bottled receptors
invisible potion
fizzy, instinctive, I want you around.

Premium Member I'Ve Solved One Climate Change Issue

About climate change and its effects there has been a lot of chatter.

One concern is that the sea-level is rising and I think I know the matter.

My research reveals that there is a dearth of sea sponges, (that is my notion).

We need to increase the growth of sponges to soak up the water in the ocean!

(Concocted with considerable tongue in cheek!)

Premium Member You Have No Idea

Listen to poem:
is it misguided pride
when in every way
I want you
to take me
possess me
claim what is yours

all the while refusing
to hand myself over
like some cheap prize
at a country fair

everybody plays a game
abiding by the rules
concocted in their head

when do we realize
that some games
have no winners

Premium Member To the Night

The night is deliciously hot
every child is decked out
in a Halloween costume
 the full moon beams
as witches prepare
their concocted spells
spending hours adding
eye of toad
nail of a dog
hair of a cat to their potion
 planning to make
 their Halloween night
 one to remember
so be careful who and what
witch you run into
or else you might be Bewitched
fun

Happenings

Along this strange venue I tread
Arcane a man of many
Concocted from what is deemed to be
The most unimaginable beliefs

Each direction guided by a thought
Happens to have a mind of its own
Conspiracies and schizophrenia harmonize
Like loved ones who’d never forsake I

One would gather that darkness
Is like an oblivious obscurity of validity
My brain has molded around that thought

Premium Member Elixir Vitae

cow bells ring
through verdant hills
rolling up to cuddle
towering gray cliffs
spraying white foam
intoxicating Alps
where Frankenstein
concocted Elixir Vitae
and birthed a monster
rich red wine
and a pot of fondue
on a cafe terrace
jagged tip
of the top of Europe peeking
through the fluff hugging
its head and shoulders
stunning monster
the Alps
Elixer Vitae for an
old soul

Premium Member Goody Goody Gumdrops

Goody Goody Gum drops,
It was an expression of delight
When children saw this treat
Their eyes lit up like stars at night
The inventor Murray Taylor
Concocted this ice cream treat
That was bubble gum flavoured ice cream
Filled with gum drops. What a treat.
Over the years, Goody Gumdrops lost its favour,
But the expression Goody Goody Gumdrops
It is an adage of delight for us all to still savour.

Premium Member Sue and Boo

Sue is the best magician in the coven, we knew.
Her sidekick familiar was an owl who called himself Boo.
They were formidable and daring, confident, these two.
We stayed away from them when they concocted wizard stew.

The recipient of their antics, we never knew
But they were always up to something, Sue and Boo.
They often turned people into animals who readily moo.
Part of the reason we stay out of their sight and their goo.

You Lost This Race

Discard your face
You lost the race
I begged you to wait
You lost my faith
Tore my heart
I fell apart
Wounded and bruised
You left me used
Alone to fight
Destroyed my sight
The tear in my soul
Has left me cold
Your love was a hoax
Concocted just to coax
The little thoughts into my head
Trick me into your Web of a bed
Not this time
This night is MINE
Do as i SAY
And i just might play..
You lost this race
Discard your face...
