With soap smell of rose
Keeps your feet compose

The early quiet time

Or just to toy

When I compose in English rhymes,

Whispers in the reeds,
moonlight drips from lily pads,
frogs compose a hymn of dusk.
Ripples gently hum
where the heron lifts its wings—
stillness breaks, becomes a song.
ruddy trawlers creak
as fire strummed whitecaps compose-
seagulls lock their wings
sage eyes, pursed in wry wrinkles
squint toward salt misted shards
syllables 5-7-5-7-7
Given my curiosity
Which is fueled by the ferocity
Of inquisitions about the universe
Quenching my mind's thirst
For acquiring intellectual bursts
To compose mayhem in every verse
