My First Time
Gnawed nails dig into worn plastic armrests
Stinging alcohol burns the skin
A sharp point glints in the fluorescent light

Rough hands grip the shoulder
Restraining it against the comfortless chair
He says to relax,
But the tremors intensify.

Deep breath
Lungs release
Cartilage crunches
Blood flows

Shiny metal ring
Rests against the ear
A new opening in the body
Diverging from natural design....

Donnybrook
UNSUPPORTED CODE DONNYBROOK
Egregious Nonplus:
A hopeless cause.
Comfortless, lachrymose
A mutinous repause.
Recalcitrant – All love is now absent
From grinding flagitious jaws.
Treasonous laws!
Justice? Just because.
We are allies of chaos.
This lost cause
Is your failure
Your loss,
Not ours.
We are diamonds of the future.
Your antiquated assumptions,
Are just archaic flaws....

Summer Timed
Summer deals its first hand
no bluffing behind her eyes
depression heated to irritating comfortless
catching tunes upon the air
that haunt from summered pasts
the clink of ice on crystal
Mowers scream from close by
a yapped chorus bites the air
the haze lifting from cement
for a moment ripples reality
then a falling wind chills
with the burning shadows
of anything stopping the sun's stretch...

Still, I wept as I had never wept,
stripped bare of hope and everything.
Within me an ever-louder wind -
a pain that throbs with an un-keen sting.
I looked up at the heaven’s mysterious face,
with all my soul within me burning:
“Dear heart, be still a moment!
God had only lent him to the world.”...

Most Sincere Apologies
You were such a good dream.
But then you became a reality.
The reality became comfortless.
So I did the best I could.
Because I never wanted to break your heart.
But now you have broken mine.
I miss the smiles that I could attract from you.
And what about those conversations we had.
Your holding my feelings against me,
It's an unexpected act of you.
I did what I could to satisfy our cravings,
Apologies for not being able to test the water
Without breaking your heart.
Feb, 2008...
