Cindering Thoughts
Soul charring resentment
Flaming fault at the core of my being
Pulsating regret the burning reminder
Of my self-chosen fate...

Endless Struggle
Endless struggle
Creeping like fog
Yet pouncing like fire
Blazing life with
Persistent flames
Charring the memories
And replacing them with
Black smoke and thick air
I breathe in heavy
To absorb your last words...

Vincent Millay (1892-1950)
Hair the shade of fire
Flaring like a spire
Over the sad space
Of her gypsy face:
Candle colored red
Burning down and dead.

Candle in a breeze
Of eternities,
Edna flickered faint,
Charring like some martyred saint
Scarlet at the stake,
Embered… for art’s sake....

Playing With Fire
In the hearth of my Heart there burns a torch,
While a furnace blasts inside my brain
A stove on which my Soul is scorched-
Pyre that kindles in dying flames

No Hell is hotter than my ire-
A searing heat, charring desire
Glowing embers, the blaze I enter
(Nothing more could fuel my fire!)...

Phoenix
If you were a lover
I’d tire of loving
instead, I nurse
and soothe
as an ulcer
reminded when
I or anyone
commits a misdemeanor
that given your delicate state
it burns pitifully, and you
pained beyond the measure
flare, charring my skin
as I hold on,
stomp out the flames
and bring you back, again....

Cobham
Cobham,
Friends we are before the the aparty sets in
Our souls knitted and knotted with dreams
Sharing whiskey and wits in the winds of life
Chattering doubts, and charring chagrin
Today, as foes we fool ourselves because of her
Pulling the triggers of revenge on each others minds
Does she really worth it?
Yester night, i saw her in the pool of lust with another man
Here we are contesting over imaginary love.

Sparks
I knew when sparks flew
From my brand in her cavern,
The friction-lit dark
Fanned the impotent fires;
The charring of juices
Hot, uric and spicy,
Flowed a lateral tango
And the hairs sluiced with life.
With a breath of exalting
The dream turned to torture,
Collapsed in a gnarling
Of dust from the grind;
When done only dying
With memory and meat-hooks
Simmered down upon skin
And the night embroiled vengeance....

Pyro
You set fire to my soul
When I thought I was lost
Brightened my whole world
Warmed every square inch
Of my ice block heart
You thawed me inside out
Put a light in my eyes
The sparkle I thought I lost
Then burned the whole thing
Threw it in the flames
They destroyed me
I went up in flames
Charring my once thawed heart
Burning it to a crisp
Unsalvageable
You lit a match and
Dropped it in the gasoline
Igniting everything
Like the pyromaniac you are

(Pyro-Kings of Leon)...
