Premium Member Your Love Blinds Me Your Like the Rising Sun
The sun shines brightly
much so covering my eyes
Blindly yet I see
The beauty of cadences
Shines so you glow, darling shines

Premium Member Just Write
my muse -

departed …

sometimes reality squeezes you dry,

and breathes you away with the dust …

words, beings, cadences,

the gists of the gloaming -

gone …

so …

just write.

Rhyme's Season
... stiff rhymes don't impose,
use, describing toad or rose,
crisp, uncluttered prose ...

... with clipped cadences,
a thought sparkles and dances,
mind's dalliances ...

... rhyme, as reason's gown,
doesn't dumb or drab thoughts down,
a gem in the crown ......

Surprises
Surprises

La bouche mousse
Le cœur s’émoustille
Ce qui est long
Paraît interminable
Ce qui est prêt
Devient inaccessible
Comme la vie est pleine
De surprises!
Et qui sait de quoi
Demain sera fait. Sire !

I Turned Into Music
Remember that time when
You lied in my arms
Under the silk canopy?
Then suddenly I turned to music
You pushed your fingers
Through the cadences
Past the muted notes,
But you could not hold me
I was there next to you
But was untouchable
Open to the careless sky
That took me away from you....

Quivering Shapes
Chest on bosoms tightly pressed,
As waists meet in dance of heat
To flare lust of evening’s touch---
Silhouettes cast dizzy frames
Burning pores from tango’s whip;
And quivers of motion rise
With abandoned cadences.

Touch ‘f a Melody to tune a poem’s words

Tempo to the ear, source ‘f joy to the world

Cascade ‘f rhythms to unveil some hidden

Thought, to convey a state ‘f mind, a color’s

Tint on the dark whisper ‘f the heart, cheer ‘f

Cadences to enrich at day, enlighten at night

Thrill ‘f a ballade ‘f a lifetime across the lines...

Republic Day
Proud nation paraded in patriotic attire
Saffron, white, and green frills
Swung and danced in rhythm

Warriors showed gallant touch in discipline
And marched folklores displayed diversity

Dancer’s cadences added colors to the day
And tricolor-ed flags floated in heart

Singing anthem on lips
Offered flowers to the rested souls

Nation’s thickest roar
Rose beyond clouds...

Pitha
smell from the grandma's kitchenette
that fills the whole abode
my little heart and my hungry tummy too
Pithas or Rice-cakes
this are native legacies
wrapped with fondness
served on english platter with elate

Roadside stalls
Buzz with traffic's cadences
Benches lined up with the critters
Along the whirls of leaves and the roars of branches
'The tea tumblers cuddles the pithas'!!...

Music Lives
Music is alive
It lives in each of us in the beats of our hearts
In the cadences of our voices
In the beats of our running feet
It flows in the air
Piercing the hearts and minds of all around
Music is alive
It lives in our stories
In the words we say to each other
It heals wounds and soothes tears
It has grown with people
It will continue to do so as we do
People are alive because of music
And we only die when music does...

Premium Member Flowing Creek Water
Since the rain graced our little creek,
Running whooshing liquid fills crevices
Of rocks, pebbles then babbles squeak.
Racing surging constantly balances

Cadences of rhythm causes gurlging.
The poetic quality calms relaxes.
Lapping kisses caress stones~no pounding.
Calming tranquil scene heart rhythm fixes.

Ameliorate health; opens wide heart
To nature_ and wonder of soothing
Sounds~creek's gushing words of art
Relaxing mind__accommodating...

Sidewalk Sonnet
Mom's back a crack to caulk
can't knock it in, until it's knocked
them dogs on down the sidewalk
keep on goin', no time for thought

there's rhymes to run
there's cadences to call
there's favors to sun
there's lawns to sprawl

Molly cries aloud the rules
jump a crack 'n' chalk a skip
sneakered hot dogs leap to cool
verses to holler 'n' cracks to trip

ya gotcha hopscotch, ya gotcha 'hood
sidewalk's gotcha a playin' mood good

So This Is Where You Live
(response to Ntozake Shange's 'i live in music'

So this is where you live?
In such an eclectic place
Full of cascades of cadences
And rich in thick, harmonic melodies

Is there room for more here?
Can I live here too with you?
I love the keyboard steps
The constant movement there
In lovely motion
To the command of percussion and strings
Become a muse of music
I have never met any like you
Who give up the beauty of this earth
To reside here
In music...

She
By her prose a palace built; Dioclesian, marble-carved. Every verb sinks to the hilt And settles there, trailing silt And I chip away grammar, With us in museum-lull; Statuesque, sans what glamour Was burst by the sledgehammer Of Distance (Your best defence), In cautious doubting tiny taps Around the surface. Nouns tense, Tasting such salt-permanence. I dust your indelibly- Sung radiant cadences (Me still now in minor key). Ever monumental - She.

My Way
With rhymes and verses
I'm patching my way
With words and cadences
I'm filling my days

What I used to keep locked
Found it's way to the paper
Feelings kept hidden
Suddenly are pouring thru me

In a world of violence and hate
I find in poetry a balm
Words that were used to hurt
Are now used to heal and restart

To bring hope and show care
To uplift souls and bring forth smiles
Something so simple but with such force
Must always be used to inspire.
