Premium Member Cracks In the Facade

Bright ,cheerful,jovial is his visage
You sense a fragile sadness
Belied by his soft smile

In quieter mood his face relaxes
Worry lines fragment his calm
Tears threaten like raindrops

The pent up dam now bursts, his bulwark gone
Broken,beaten and bereft
A sad shell of a man

Territory Invaded

My territory was invaded yesternigth
Rendering powerless an army of soldiers
Conquering doubts with her bulwark of beauty
Where do I go from here?
To whom shall I confide?
Who is this heroine?
Stooping to conquer my ego
Nurturing nature’s longings
Oh, do I anticipate?
Anticipate, anticipate?
Yes, I shall anticipate for pure satisfaction.

Premium Member Old Glory

Unfurled in magisterial splendor
To minds memory forever render
Glorious vision of red, white, and blue
Steadfastly waving, our hearts to renew
Emblematic embodiment we embrace
Thirteen stripes of valor, purity, and grace
Vigilance, justice, emblazoned by blue
Fifty white stars twinkle in united hue
Flying in freedom, tell our nations story
Liberties bulwark, our flag, Old Glory!

Superstitions

Toxic feelings & thoughts
Like do's & don't, taboos & aught's.
Keep vaccinated against them!
Like a coveted gem
Is the full-suit armour of truth,
A balancing against uncouth
Of yours & other's reactions,
Knee-jerk fears & actions.
From whence are they?
How do they play?
Demons laughing at mind frozen,
Stuck-in-the-mud, embolden.
There is a bulwark for it all:
Jesus Christ's clear clarion call!

Premium Member Our Strength

Our strength is in our morals and ethics
Not in weapons, battleships, or planes
Belief in the freedoms innate in every man
Our faith in what's right and good sustains.
The bulwark of our international respect
Democracy depends on a bold endeavor
To stand for justice in a troubled world
Where the flag waves for every brother
And sister, free to be all they can be
While holding high the banner of liberty.

The Creed of Few Men

Amid fire, amid fear
When hope has no grounds in circumstance
I will stand.
Amid silence, amid lies
When all truth has become blurred
I will speak, with the clarity of true principle.
Amid cowardice and treachery
When valor is a virtue long since buried
I will fight.
Amid tyranny and oppression
When freedom has no bearing
I will rise, a bulwark against the tide.
Amid bloodshed and tears
When agony has no ending
I will defend.

Premium Member The Language of Faith

The Church
The pillar and bulwark of the truth
Faith guards
The faith which was once for all delivered to the saints
She guards the memory of Father Christ’s words
It is she who from generation to generation hands on the apostles’ confession of faith
As a mother who teaches her children to speak and so to understand and communicate
The Church our mother teaches us the language of faith
In order to introduce us to the understanding and the life of faith

Budding Desires

Desires unleashed,
Desires unchained,
They’re not his doing,
They're not his making.

Out of the closet, they emerge,
Like a deluge, they overwhelm,
They cloud the thoughts,
They stealthy permeate.

Dilemma spells the day,
Who pulls the string?
Who is at the helm of affairs?
Who stands at the gate?

There’s a tempest and a tussle,
There’s turbulence and pushback,
There’s midnight and a peering light,
There’s an inrush and a bulwark.

Guilt

Hearing subversive, oft-hand remark,
Callously spreading rumor on a lark.
Silhouette of angst o'er mind parks.
Deceitful soul's vast refuge a bulwark,
keeping mind's sentient eye in the dark,
Still short-sighted vision veils a quark,
But to dry, subliminal tinder won't hark.
Fueled consciences' flint strikes spark,
Fanning winds o'er tender psyche arc.
Singeing flame peels soul's, dense bark;
Contrasting light to mind painfully stark

quark: elementary particles having electric charges

Love On a Lark

On a truant stroll did embark
Amorous libertine on a lark
Half past eight, almost dark
Chance encounter in the park
Whimsical glance hit the mark
Scintilating essence; a meadowlark
Glowing eyes radiated a spark
Glimmering lips lust did earmark
Craven, black hair so sleek, so stark
Bleating bosom her beaconing bulwark
Cleavage mapped by tight, clinging sark
Hips slithering along like a careening shark
Silken nylons her sensuous trademark
Writhing, to her milky nectar I did hark
