I look at her and weep.
She didn't know the pain ahead
and I do, but can say nothing.
Her happiness is fragile and fleeting,
her hope resting in it completely.
Oh, how she will break soon.
her sun extinguished and dead.
And so I wonder at the one
who looks at me right now.
She knows my future and
knows if my new hope will die,
