Bradford pears decorated in white Forsythia in her golden gown Star Magnolia flowers droop out of sight As many daffodils' petals have fallen down Pouring rain did damage to tender flowers Some fell to the ground or turned brown Those left add delight to my eyes and give powers To heal winter's blahs and breakdown

Premium Member Burgundy
Some of the Bradford Pears have turned burgundy
The leaves are so glossy feeding the trees the last for this year
As they drink the burgundy wine from their lips
The black ink of my pen tells my poignant tale of my love for you

This creation that you made just for me
Gives me kisses and hugs that no one elso sees
Private; filling my inner being with your presence
Fill me let me overflow sending your love and spirit out...

The Bradford Pear
By Franklin Price
2/26/2017

I am the glorious Bradford Pear.
My leaves are turning white
I'm lining many streets and lanes
Trimmed and spaced just right

Other trees with branches bare
Show not a leaf in sight

Will be snow-like for just awhile
Then time will change the scene
Turning my leaves from snowflake white
To ones of Springtime green...

Premium Member A Ewe and Her Two Small Lambs
Early spring field and scattered daffodils,
Framed in by the ethereal green hills.

Sun sweet warmth falls behind and tries to gain
As gray clouds drift, a calming sprinkling rain.

Under the dappled shade of the tall free
Laden with rich white blooms Bradford pear tree

A wooly ewe milking her small lambs, lie
Contently tucked resting until clear sky.

Baa-baa, scamper, and leap among the field
Awaiting time as mama made them yield.

Premium Member Road Kill
A day with the family to enjoy lunch in a town close by..Heavy gray clouds, wind, and threat of tornados leaving thoughts questioning whether to go or stay..A day to do the unusual wins..The gun enthusiasts go to a gun show while the ladies shop..On the way the gray clouds seem weighty...

buzzards eat noon meal
road kill thrown in open field..
bradford pear death wreath

Sun emerges for a few seconds somber weigh lifts..
