The Weaker Sex

Blemishes appear
when innocence dissipates;
although considered
facetious and offensive,
the weaker sex bear the scars.

Sentimental Scars

Sentimental scars
Hurt so much more
Than these physical blemishes
I’d rather bleed briefly
And heal with a scratch
Than bleed forever
And never be repaired

Untitled #136 / Blemishes Appear

Now blemishes appear on the
painted gold metal surface, miniscule
scratches accumulated through the
strains of daily life.
Even watches cannot escape the yoke of time.

My man Kenny breezed through five marriages Certainly not unscathed but with a few blemishes They certainly cost him Much to his chagrin But to me he's still a big star with lots to cherish

Father

The sun bitter cold
Down my cheek is tragedy
My soul sits in pain

Mind in dark shadows
Seeking last light perfect blooms
To make tangible

Heart drifts with a cloud
Blemishes fade on the wind
He was perfection

Sally's basin is broken and shattered
But her plumbing works is all that mattered
It was all a one-night sink
Tap in and out in a blink
Her men took finding joy in what splattered

Silhoutte

I WAS ALWAYS YOUR REFLECTION
NOW I'M JUST A MIRAGE YOU SEE IN A MIRROR
OUR LOVE HAS VANISHED, YOU'RE A MIRAGE OF MY SHADOW
LOST AND BURIED, COULD NEVER BE FOUND
WE JUST TWO GHOSTS OF CHRISTMAS PAST

DISAPPEARING OF A FALLEN NORTH STAR
SILHOUTTE THE BLEMISHES OF MY FACE,
SPAWLED FROM THE ELISPE OF THE SUN

Premium Member In Deed

Not for what I have done,
but what you've done for me,
you love me in deed.

Not for who I now am,
but for who I will be,
your love intercedes.

Not for my blemishes,
but in spite of all them,
your love supercedes.

You refine me with fire
like a purified gem.
You love me indeed.

Too Far Gone

imperfections tucked into tight jeans
insecurities under the soft blouse
fragility walking in stiletto heels

knowing....
when you light the candles...
when you unbutton the silk shirt...
when you lay me down...

enraptured....
you will be too far gone to see
the mars and freckles of my make-up
the blemishes from my past

For 200 years I've been enslaved by your fears Shallow blemishes colors not representative Bonded now freed Slavery tears Featured conveyances can't get used to this Freedom's here Freedom's here As I look all around me now As the people cheer Freedom's here

Premium Member Perfectly Imperfect

If you’re looking for perfection
Then you best keep passing by
Cause there may be perfect people
But I’m not that perfect guy

My blemishes are obvious
My imperfections plan to see
My flaws and shortcomings
Accompany deficiencies

But, if you too aren’t perfect
And want empathy that understands
Then being perfectly imperfect
I might be just your man

Who are we? Are we part of God? Is the hurt we feel reflective of His? Where is the greater good? Is it in

Pages

Pages

My book is but an
empty sheaf of pages
unwritten upon
by any hand but my own

Not one jot - not one slip
of the eternal pen
blemishes those glaring	spaces

Must my worth be counted
in the coin of whatever realm
others choose for me

I think not
Let me write my own
words upon my pages

My pen will spell out
the essence blind eyes
do not see

Intuition

Brazen internal instructions
Leading to receding of mental obstructions
In the moment's abduction
And the foresight that is in construction
Finding clairvoyance in transcending of spiritual planes
Savoring the essence of every single grain
Of sands within the hourglass
Of happenstance unexplained
Blemishes in time truly stained
But it ultimately becomes beneficial wisdom to be gained...

Throne of God

Walking by the throne of God
The place where there is peace
There will be no troubles to concern thee
For in Him is all joy and peace
Seeking to behold the master’s face
Oh to taste of Heavens grace
There is a place in my heart where it’s only Jesus
And for that I am blessed

You are Holy, majestic and mighty
With your hands you heal us oh Lord
Removing all blemishes and stains on our garments

How You Care

How you take care
To make my small pleasures
Out of your great bounties

With what ease my beloved one
You build these chains around you
And stooping in grace melting in love
Mingle in my sight
Until this face with all its blemishes
Untangles at every thrilling turn
Of your melody
And merges in your face

Eye in eye ear in ear sight and smell and touch
My Lord be me and mine in all and more such

Beautiful

In the water I am beautiful,
Everything shines,
My blemishes are blurred,
And untouched by time,

In the water I am beautiful,
And baptised anew,
Innocent in nature's womb,
A fetus in a crystal tomb,

In the water I am beautiful,
All I hear is the tide,
Cruel words are washed away,
Nothing comes inside,

In the water I am beautiful,
My body is gone,
In the water I am beautiful,
With the water I am one.

atone for unseasoned blunders
for hearts bruised midstream
impassioned regrets amiss

in soulful waves of intent
on through the night
launch healing vibes

intoxicating perfumes
on a summer breeze
reach dormant minds

to dispel blemishes
spoils of the minds
cleanse and absolve

to wake fresh in the morn
heights of lungs imbued
with lofty mountain air

Cage the Songbird

A pretty bird born free
That feels beauty is for others

What her mirror sees
Are the blemishes undiscovered

Has a set of wings
Yet keeps them folded under

Born to loudly sing
But took on self doubt as her lover

Lives her life as is
She has never known another

Sitting on her perch
In the cage she's built around her

The title I took from an Elton John song.
I tried to think of another one
but feel this fits best...

Clarion Call

The rotting process,
The ailing wood,
Slowly its strength ebbed,
Gradually its resilience declined,
Blemishes made inroads to its core,
Its roots became feeble and frail,
Its boughs withered,
They fell off like drops of rain,
When wood becomes earth,
It is washed away by seasons” denude,
When wood sleeps,
It is home to crawling creatures,
A loss to nature’s tapestry,
A marker for tomorrow’s frayed beauty.

Premium Member Cloudy Days

O ever changing sky, blue-gray and maudlin
your mood and unsettled ways, meld with mine.
The clouds seem but blemishes upon clear skin
O weary sky your cheeks seek only sun's shine
and gentle winds to sooth me in decline.

O let the clouds turn white and bright the day
let my bruised heart heal not be consumed
cirrus streaks and cumulus in joyous May
may your changing beauty raise me from my gloom
for clouds are naught but fair as new day blooms

Premium Member Autumn and the Leaves

Autumn in the leaves
Speckling change
with crisping dew
when a season done
with green
(as earth's sky
paling blue)
putting to rest
the old
making way
for God's new;

I finger the age-spots...

other blemishes
nature's obvious rots--

preparing for
again our spring
touching the ring
I still wear
for cherish--
such vows
were never made
to perish

I rewrite, with death
we do not part

for no temporary
a true heart....

Zit Face

Big, red, extremely squishy,
and so, so embarrassing!
Just think of what would happen
going to school with that thing!

It was so tempting to pop!
Extremely tempting indeed!
My blemish was taunting me,
and ridding it was a need!

So then I very carefully
reached up and touched my forehead.
And quite slowly but surely
my ugly zit retracted!

Now my skin is just flawless
with no blemishes to hide!
Oh no, what’s that small red dot?
Whatever, at least I tried!
