Bic

Their lighters

     allow me to smoke

  joints and cigarettes

that inspire depressing poetry

      written in their pens' ink,

which I cut myself to with

  their razors.

                         Thanks BIC!

One More Before I Go

She knew me, but did I know her?
I wrote her into existence
Each aspect of her personality
In black and white
One letter at a time
Sometimes painful
Sometimes quick
Sometimes lost in the flick of a bic
She is my legacy
But...

Dark and Stormy Night

it was a dark and stormy night
a flick of a bic
and a radioactive polonium glow

he said he went ballistic
the other day

it was all over an interpretation
of what,
a psychotic little smile

I'm just Sancho Panza
a sidekick in this life

it's all good
I suppose.

Here lies my old pal Michael,
His spirit set free by wind,
because the storm which kicked his bucket,
trapped the poor old git within,
A Scotsman by his name,
and a carpenter by trade,
should of built yourself s door mate,
to stop the barn which caved you in.

I love you Bic.

Two candles flickered a fight
When the lights went out, just after midnight
One thought he was slick
When he blew out the other one's wick
So the other one had to fight without light

But the other one was quick
And he waxed up a trick
That indeed, was a little bit bright
At the site of the fight in the light of midnight
He flamed up from a flick of his Bic

Land of the Free (Base)

Thailand,
Or Kensington?
Tinfoil from a Kit-Kat,
Tells you that there’s no difference,
Outside,

Cocaine,
Ammonia,
Old Martell miniature,
A Bic lighter; a mound of ash,
Bangkok?

Fly south
Like Garuda,
Drift off to Koh Samui,
A Beach house, Or Council estate?
Who cares?

Wake up,
Burnt down candles,
Landlord on the doorstep
‘Last weeks rent?’ ‘Giro on Thursday…
…Get lost…’

Tantamount

To you I'm a number
A census head count
A baseline, statistic
Not special
Tantamount
A blip on a radar
A bump in the road
I'm just human traffic
A bipedal drone
I'm only a age range
A line on a graph
A check with a Bic pen
A dot on a map
I want you see me
Know who I am
That I breathe,
That I'm tangible
Just touch me again
Show me you want me
Tell me I count
Not one of the masses
Not common
Tantamount

My Friend To the End

Today I mourn the loss Of a good and trusted friend Who shared with me the company Thru hard times thick and thin I held him close unto my heart This companion, confidante and brother Who became my means To put thoughts and dreams To paper as could no other But the lifeblood of all of us Is finite in the end So…with a void in my heart And a tear in my eye To my faithful friend Until the very end Goodbye ol’ Bic …Goodbye…

Love To Gamble

Time to roll the dice
I don't even care
How high of a price
As long as I get my share

Put the money in the machine
Pick which ticket I want for me
If I can't, I can get mean
Scratch it off and we shall see

Hand me the ticket for quick pick
Same lucky numbers, too
There I stand, flick my bic
Get lucky is what I plan to do

I'm sure you guessed by now
My addiction is gambling, too
I keep asking myself, how
How can I break this habit I do?
