Thick as deep summer night, lush and moon dripped

did we notice
glazed eyes
during the lull
of idle banter
and then embrace
seemingly innocuously
the estranged one
vibrationally
with intent to heal

Sadness in her eyes,
betrays the camouflage donned,
of mundane idle banter.

There’s a sacredness,
respected at such moments,
holding hands, entwining hearts.

Deaf.
Hands fly.
Symbols whirl.
Nuance slips past fast.
Hand jive, succinct lines blur.
Blink, blind, behind banter, blither on deft fingers.

Banter

Restless Banter
Ticka ticka...ticka
Throughout my forest
Coming and going
Like to trains in the
darkness
Still I have a
Destination
With their headlights
Sharing the night together

Victim Statement

Those who were laughing thought it a tease.
The butt of the joke though felt ill at ease.
     It was banter to them,
     but he felt condemned
and bullied, though contrary their pleas.

Lip-smacking whipped cream caffeine kick,
molten sips a swirl tide nectar,
nest of colleagues weave light relief,
office banter pulse rate wrecks graph,
pep restored for desktop drudgers

According To Wyatt

Affable people
are likeable fools
Divorced from the moment
their banter unspools

Affable people
in search of a creed
Amusing examples
— of folly indeed

Premium Member A Man Called Saint Patrick

There once was a man who liked Saint Patrick.
He said, "find the lovely matric!".
It was rather a banter.
But not every intruder.
He couldn't say no to the hat trick.

Sad Song

Not a light's kiss
Slow dispersal of bliss

We came a long way
Expectations turned sore
It breaks my heart today
That my dear friend is no more

Childhood's banter memories
All faded gloomily by death's kiss.

Premium Member Obnoxious Boor at Family Reunion

He was obnoxious almost to the point of repulsive
Constant banter escaped his always yapping jowls
He gave you no space or peace, monopolizing all conversation
Many stopped attending family reunions due to this brazen boor

Sci Fi Banter

Unlike your Mr Asimov
Whom I hear likes Rachmaninoff

  My limericks are clean
the point clear to be seen

Perhaps he drinks too much Smirnoff!

Subdued

Your very presence takes my breath away
Your light banter makes my smile sway,
Intricately woven, our paths cross oft
Unbeknown, are we soul mates adrift?
Slowly time will tell its tale
Spinning away removing all veils . . .

Premium Member STAR OF THE BANTER

Galaxy you shine of dreams
Comet races like my heart
Big Dipper comes a courting
Dressing the night with stars
Bed of clouds soft and warm
Pillow talk deserves an answer
Swelling moon full of charm
In your arms star of the banter

Premium Member I Catch His Glance

my hazel orbs are silent
he barely glances my way
but I catch his meaning
communication is swift

others continue their banter
not seeing or feeling
what we feel and know
husband wife communication
unfelt or discerned by others

The Banter

The Banter

A simple glance
A touch of hand
A gentle smile
A laugh
A look

Dinner for two
A simple rose
Candles and wine
The excitement
The butterflies

Need grows
Love soars
Two people
Bigger than both of them
Forever

Silence 3

No sounds at all - no noise, no talking, no music
No laughter or arguing, no banter
Just quiet -
Panic sets in - don't let those thoughts filter in!
Those thoughts that creep surreptitiously through
Creating doubts and fear and terror

The Weir At Lucan

In their coloured anoraks
I see young people canoeing
swinging their oars as they cut and dip
into the frothy waters.

Around me, daffodil bulbs
shoot stalks out of damp earth,
and falling water clears my head
of office banter and tedious days.
