sin breaks like charcoal
under the weight of mercy
my hands rise clean,
still smelling faintly of smoke
...
clock
freezes
on ashes,
new bride…widow,
denied of flowering seasons, untold.

For Eve Roper
"Ashes to Ashes"
He was here and now hes gone
Yes to start a new
I miss you already friend
Know I will see you again...
Rising from dead gray ash remnants
Unforeseen spark of something
A joyful life of abundance
Dancing in her own heart string.
Did I love her?
Everyone knows I did -
since I was a kid.
I hope I'm where
she believed I'd be,
not just ashes on the sea.
Falling before you--
A prism of dysfunction
with kisses that burn,
taste my blame.
You can kill a people
But can never kill an idea
From embers of the fallen, a new hope shall ascend
And a thousand times if it must.
My heart burns
Like a house on fire
So hot, and out of control
As it falls to the ground
Crumbling, and leaving nothing but ashes

Form:
oh love
take another
breathe for me
out of these ashes
I shall not live
without thee
by my side because
your beauty shall rise
I am free to burn America's flag
as if soldier's lives do not matter
But should I burn down 'BLM'
my ashes the left will scatter
For now I’ll whisper upon the past
To perhaps let some hardness of mine go
And travelled a bit lighter then,
Hoping to consider the end.
Ashes to ashes,
flutter down,
scatter me
upon the ground.
Lye there helpless
so that you step on me
and I'll just stay down
in the ashes of me.
oh love
take another
breathe for me
out of these ashes
your beauty shall rise
your laughter
your spirit and
your beautiful eyes
appear to me
Why did it always feel so devastating
As each new flame I was tenderly holding
Faded away before my heart blackening
From smoke and mirrors, while suffocating.
In the solitary hours
cigarettes are my only friends.
Flames of love are a distant past;
the future too far a journey.
Ashes to ashes
in this house of shadows.
In the solitary hours
cigarettes are my only friends.
Flames of love are a distant past;
the future too far a journey.
Ashes to ashes
in this house of shadows.
Since leaving
from the ashes of me,
I'm a believer of this
life I'm living...
I feel so satisfied
that I'm getting used to
to be in that way, full, complete...!
You were the oxygen to the fire in me.
As I consumed you, the fire in me grew
Until I burnt myself inside out,
Until everything that was left of me
Was ash and dust.
Life slowly rises out of the ashes,
Only to be greeted by darkness.
A darkness being consumed by woe,
Woe being consumed by sins.
In a never ending motion,
Of just retribution.
Bizarre Blighty bonfire at the Gabbatoir
Starc like Slash just thrashes his guitar
The south paw so far the star and Tsar
Our bete noir ..to the Ashes lark au revoir
My soul must have been born
when the world was still black and white.
Colors drain from body
and I am home.
In all the shades of grey.
Like a burnout star.
Ashes from ashes.
How does one reason with something dead, and or dying ?
The moon is full tonight, dangling in the sky this ancient light..
As poison, 'seeping into my flesh; discerned, her masque of red.
Form:
Only the dead
see an end
to war
Ashes to ashes
dust
keeping score
Only the living
revere
the dead
The past
in exile
—the future in dread
(Dreamsleep: December, 2023)
I swallowed a bug.
Would like to say it was tasty
or tender..
but those I can't remember.
It probably had wings
dreamed of better things.
But down it went
the first day of Lent.
The floor crumbles
as thousands of cockroaches
running away from grief,
a fire that consumes them,
letting a hopeless condemn,
a tragic, helpless landscape
suffocated in dire and ashes
