Banana Strings
Do you know what really bugs me the most
Banana strings, banana strings, damn things are gross
They have no purpose
Not in my esophagus
Just one of life's damn annoyances I suppose...

I do not know?
Shhh
Shhh!
(Thinking in Progress)
By; Tom
7/24/2019
Morning has lingered stirring a hapless feeling,
Petty annoyances have stifled my train of thought.
Cerebration didn’t render what my pen found appealing,
And without fuel for the fire, my effort was for naught.

Spaces Between the Words
Reading was his sanctuary
From noise
From worry
From fear
He could curl up in the tiny spaces
Tucked between the words and pages
Of a book
Dream with the characters
Run with the plot
Imagine the illusions.
In his mind
The outside world
With its annoyances
Loud talk
Racing engines
Flying jets
Artificial deadlines
Could run without him....

On Being Nosy
What is it to me if
The teenage girl next door
Leaves on a date dressed up
Like a downtown whore?
If her brother wears his cap
With the bill in the back
And their father drives up
In a ratty old hearse Cadillac?
Why do I let the smallest
Things annoy me so?
I think I would move away
If I had some place to go.

Little Annoyances
I feel I‘m the reason
For our eventual separation
And I’m sorry.
Sorry for every little annoyances
The petty irritating nuances
All the painful sideways
Glances
That I’ve ever given.
And the fact that I’ve lost you
I’m sorry.
To our falling apart
And me not meeting
Your ultimate needs
For this I’m sorry,
I’m sorry.

Staying Focused
Staying Focused
Written: by Miracle Man
3/8/2020
God said, keep yourselves, ready for action,
always staying focused on the chore ahead.
When I let annoyances steal my traction,
the door is ajar for Satan’s entry instead.
No matter what annoyances come my way,
when focused on the task ahead I’ll find.
Irregardless of what my friends may do or say,
each battle always begins within my mind.

Lyric
Drag Me Along
As speckled trout jump in dawn's early light
I cast a fly to whet their appetite.
And flick my rod, stripping line from the reel
causing hungry fish to lunge for a meal.
A cold river current gives rise to mist
but all such annoyances are soon dismissed.
For I hook a fish that's wild and headstrong
and it attempts to drag me along.

Balancing Act
Annoyances add up so fast
That sometimes you might be aghast
When life does prolong
All the things going wrong
And your stress level can’t be surpassed.
For somehow when nits multiply,
Even calm people cannot deny
That each problem presents
Such a knot that prevents
Peace of mind and I’d like to know why.
I guess life’s a balancing act
And the odds against joy have been stacked.
If you’re happy one day
It gets taken away;
That’s a guaranteed bona fide fact....
