Notes About The Poem

Drag Me Along

As speckled trout jump in dawn's early light I cast a fly to whet their appetite. And flick my rod, stripping line from the reel causing hungry fish to lunge for a meal. A cold river current gives rise to mist but all such annoyances are soon dismissed. For I hook a fish that's wild and headstrong and it attempts to drag me along.
