But I do not like it at all.
This seasonal fascination

Incredulity and disbelief marked their demeanour
When we spoke of ineffable rapture of unending bliss
We were asked to prove validity of our affirmation
So we pointed to a blooming rose and said, ‘become this’
Accentuate the positive
Follow your heart
Fulfill your dreams
Inspired by higher power
Reach for the sky
Make it happen
Apply yourself
Think big
Intercept negative thinking
Own your challenges
Never give up
One of the best things to do when someone is reeling
Take time to acknowledge how they are feeling,
Let them know you are confirming their hurt
And doing your best to bring some comfort.

I AM my affirmation,
This is my creation.
I AM proud of this adaptation,
Of molecular mutation.
I AM aware of the vibration,
Raising mine to the occasion.
Choosing my best of each situation,
I become my affirmation.
Trailing off the desperate landfills of narrow fascination
Into my very own lesser known hallowed affirmation—
I wind mine through the wind in the air of my own air—
Should you happen to blow by; I’ll sail upon your prayer.
Beginning with I am so and so
We drop identity label
What's left is I Am
An affirmation
Of aliveness
But before I Am
Is that that causes

the darling sweet pines
are the celebration and
the coronation
that come to mind
be filled with bright snow
the marriages of
the our sons and
our daughters
bring us through
the affirmation of
the pines
the clairvoyant saw what we did not
the truth that was, was as was, anyway
we too knew it though we did not see it
so did the affirmation hold value?
if it did, we are yet in lower mind
if not, we are, as we are, free

Guitar case for a saddle,
to ride each beckoning whim
A folk tale left untethered,
his melody to claim
Each song an affirmation

There, contrasting stark and grey,
From which it stands apart,
It sprouts and blooms in striking pose,
Despite a bane of art.
It reaches out, attracting fame
In willingness to love.
Seems hope that frees itself from doubt
Is worth the knowledge of.
I will bury the thing I was in
the person I am now

know peace again

hear the song again

look outside and see my children

feel the sun again and it will be amazing
I will
look behind me and my pain will be a memory
I will sit by night and be careful to keep the blight at bay.
I will stay in the moment of each day then watch your sun drift away.

Footprints in the snow or a ripple in the creek-
The wet cement of thoughts begin to harden into feelings.
Feelings on the sidewalk are flooded by words.
For some reason I have no hesitation.
Affirmation blooms like a rose.
Heat from a flame and the sound of rain.
