We learn what
we don't want...
We accumulate knowledge
of little use...
Then we die of
nostalgia...when school out
class is over
Do we really own anything
Do we even own our lives
Why is there so much effort
It seems, that each of us strives
To accumulate things
In a materialistic view
When we cannot take things with us
We’re just passing through
I have my fears
I have my brakes
but without much thinking
I buy myself many things.
I accumulate many .debts...
Out of fear I tell myself some things
to rationalize and apologize...
I buy, I consume...
Soon I exist...!
Cogito ergo sum ! !
hands are clean manicured
perfumed groomed
our minds are dirty filthy
they plot and judge greedy

Ticktock, as the clock counts down time:
the seconds morph into minutes.
Then, the minutes stack up as hours
that accumulate into days,
transforming into weeks, then months.
Tethered to thoughts of forever,
time, transcends the concept of years.
Jolly good time
Under the railroad tracks
Never know what you might find
Kalidescope of possibilities
You accumulate a pile of goodies
Alchemists would be jealous
Relishing my variety of dubious choices
Delightful place to find treasure, car parts, used gum
Success is like a pot of soup:
Think about making a pot of soup
You put the ingredients in
Boil them for a long time
It seemed like nothing was happening
Suddenly the sweet smell came up
That's where one may wear its smile
Success takes time to accumulate and grow.
The oldest man drinks quick sips
Of the Ebony’s night poison
hoping that the meager amounts
wouldn’t accumulate in the soft organ tissue.

Vindictively sowing the seeds of hate
Whats in our hearts will seal or fate
An unspeakable future if we so choose
Our very souls we stand too lose
Shave the insulation of our tainted view
To see the naked truth anew
Do the facets of humanity shine in you?

useless desire's accumulate in storage
excessive consumption flatter's overinflated ego's
excited imagining of sheer satisfaction
temporary status quo enjoy , eventhough
race toward next latest greatest
