Trinity Surrounded and Abounded

Trinity Surrounded and Abounded

By the Trinity we are so surrounded;
All around us They  have abounded;
Love is alluring,
All things curing,
Were in songs and horns that sounded.

Romance Is In the Air

romance ricochet off the walls
odes of love abounded,
mixed with gooseflesh emotion
all depicting memories of how love
nurtured by the sun, sea and sand
treated to a romantic interlude
in a secluded hotel.
Changed my life...

Singing So Sweetly Sounded

Singing So Sweetly Sounded

our hearts had pounded
singing so sweetly sounded
around abounded

we have been obsessed
a knowledge of God possessed
by Him we are blessed

opportunity
to have perfect unity
in community

should see church spire
bells sound louder and higher
in their entire

Striving For Happiness

We felt the joy of the soft mellow breeze, sighing down the hill,
As we lay sprawled beneath a cedar that grew beside a rill.
Shrubs abounded, meadows covered with splashes of daffodil.
One day we'll be wed there where divine nature displayed goodwill.
Bells tolled from our chapel anticipating us with a thrill.

Conjurer

CONJURER.

Conjuring up all the memories
Of past and future into present
Washing eyes with saline waters
To see clarity among the mists
Vista of tragedy in land stranded
Where downy fears ever abounded.

Give mind rest, some space
To breathe out suffocations
Celebrating birth of a heart
In misty silvery undertones
A courage of projections to start.

Foolishness

Fool, you borrowed time from fate
Obeisance was wrong indeed
Objected nothing and moved on
Lotus was your favorite fruit
Irrationality was a kind of madness
Sarah warned, " Be careful, son! "
Harry, your pal, spoke like her
None seemed unreachable or vain
Enthralled by many false visions
Surges of panic and anger abounded
Sultry thoughts brought death

Another Karen - a Reverse Poem

My black son
He did not belong
Unwelcome
Unannounced and subsequently
Uninvited
To attend his predominately white Honors math class online
Confirmations abounded
With increasing befuddlement
By the substitute teacher
“Are You Sure?”
By a white classmate
Affirmed
Welcomed
Invited
Permitted to remain
After all
He did belong
My black son

Blessed Harvests

Downpour of God's grace* Answers to fervent plight-tears Great blossoms fruit-yields. Timely provisions Abound in the Lord’s pasture Ending food crises. Bountiful harvest heaven’s great supply Blessings midst dearth’s gloom!

Rolling Dice

Rolling Dice
            by Odin Roark

Natural selection
Can’t help it

Way back
Necessity abounded
Creating proceeds by chance

Expanded into nonrandom reality
From random happenstance

Amassed complexity from
Cross-thatched simplicity

Spark-lit some consciousness
Through unconscious irony

Popped out creatures
Demanding purpose and discovery

And science/common sense labeled it
Evolution

Sin

In this old world where sin abounds,
you never catch the Devil at rest.
As a Christian I must be on guard,
at the ready for his next test.

Seeking from God, His measure of grace,
my token for just today.
So when tempted and must escape,
He'll have readied for me a way.

Before God was in my life each day,
it seemed my life would come unwound.
Until I learned "where sin abounded,
Grace did much more abound".

Hurricane

There was a hush that resounded
loud and still high in the trees,
stretched along the graying sky abounded
  just above the flow of canopies;
a rush of wind racing
  followed by rain deluge flowi
and the earth cleansing and erasing
  the mark of man below.

We build and restucture the land
 fooled by our controling minds
determined to make our mighty stand
but it is in the world at large we find
nature rules with greater commands.

Osprey

OSPREY

On skies, you glared predator-proud talons and beak curved so
sharp as narrow-vision> focusing on doubling plenty to millions...

Prey abounded, you soared, till rivers faded to an unseen creep
richly sipping of bounties seeping DDT, while in your high tower
eagles hawked tainted by death unaccounted, until eggs fragile
yielded cracks in their oval, speed-plummeting to cries of: why…?

Sunsets Blaze Orange

The sun sets on another day
It was a day like any other
With one big exception
But it was a glorious day
No rain
No haze and
Not a cloud in the sky
Blue abounded all around
That is why it seemed so odd to…
(no not yet)

The grass was green
And smelled of freshly cut
Flowers bloomed with a gloriousness
Yet unseen till today
( I don’t think you can tease them any longer)
Ok I will tell them
Today’s big event unlike all the others was…
I died

Fort Largs Stepping Out On Hallowed Ground

Will you step on the hallowed ground
With our brothers and sisters that were found
When we marched together as one
And our lives had just begun

Do you remember the morning parades
And the leave night escapades
The golden days when youth abounded
The feeling of a new life as you were astounded

But the years have been unkind
And the hallowed ground has weeds entwined
For us who were the lucky few
Close you eyes your memories won’t fade for you.
