Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive".
Notwithstanding, a life of giving one's self sacrificially is pricy.
Indeed, a 'self-giving life' is rewarding but also costly.
The air in that sphere of life is like mountain air.
The higher one goes the thinner the air becomes.
People in such a high zone are rare breeds.
But thinner air does not mean a bitter life.
A giving life is by far the sweetest life.

O Blessed Virgin Mary, our Lord's servant-- so humble
Hearing your Seven Sorrows makes my heart almost crumble
I wish to imitate your loving prayers (and not mumble)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The Virgin Mary, humble servant of the Lord, was
open to His every word and call. She was embraced by
Francis with indescribable love and declared the
protectress and advocate of his family. The Secular
Franciscans should express their ardent love for her by
imitating her complete self-giving and by praying
earnestly and confidently. "
No question
No change
Change to begin
Change to understand
Understand the defeat
Understand the loss
Loss of hope
Loss of self
Self defeated
Self worth
Worth trying
Worth sharing
Sharing ideas
Sharing life
Life alone
Life of questioning
Questioning my capability
Questioning my expectations
Expectations of understanding self
Expectations of love
Love others
Love self
Self giving
Self fulfilling
Fulfilling your life
Fulfilling a promise
Promise to try
Promise of a future of love
Love to take
Love to give
Give
Take
Trust the unknown force that grew you,
From the joining of two cells.
Act of love, of self giving,
Thus to grow a newer self.
Trust the dark,the unseen aspects
Of the life we all do live.
Trust that there is wisdom elsewhere,
To your emptiness to give.
Wait in patience for the time
When inspiration comes at last
Trust in darkness,silence,lowness.
Opposition forms the cross.
Pain is bearable in lowness,
Like the worm in earth I dwell.
When I look I see the sunrise
And I trust all shall be well.
We have a beautiful liturgy
so dramatic and impressive
that one may be glued to it,
be involved and participate.
It presents a new movement,
along with its recurring theme,
a celebration of life and promises
that God, our Savior, makes us one.
He teaches us to serve others,
He teaches us to give humble service
He makes us aware that we’re followers
of his preaching to love one another.
It’s an act of self-giving to love others
as depicted in foot washing at the last Supper
where it happens on Maundy Thursday
as he institutes the Holy Eucharist
as well as the sacrament of priesthood.
It’s so rich with images and symbols
especially in our attitude of serving people
these are reminders that we’ve a role,
a mission to fulfill, a faith to proclaim.
In my own country where there’s poverty,
corruption, injustice, and inequality;
it’s a chance to incarnate in reality
what the gospel teaches us to do.
Though some hurdles may hinder
to move freely and be with the poor
yet the love of God for these people
is our priority, the preferential option.
Working towards a goal no one else can see.
Believing in something no one else would believe in but me.
To stand up for yourself, your cause.
Hearing only your own self, giving you applause.
It doesn't matter what it is you stand for.
Fight for it, no matter in times of peace or war.
In your heart, you know it is the right move.
It is only to yourself, that you have anything to prove.
You control your own destiny if you can believe.
Wearing the pain as pride on your sleeve.
Whatever your purpose is, take it off the shelf.
If for no reason, do it for no one, only yourself.
You can be the person you always desired.
Look inside, you are the one you always admired.
Remember if you don't stand for something,
you will fall for anything and nothing.
Lord,look upon me
Inward,outward let me be;
Open,warm,loving,--free,
To lead a self-giving life,
Protected in the spiritual strife;
Descend on me,as a dove,
Fill me full of Jesus love.
