WISH OF A ROOSTER
Swinging scarlet red velvet crown,
flapping wings feathered golden-brown
boldly ignoring the Master’s frown,
roams the brave rooster,
being the booster
of poultry, far away from town.
Rooster wanders free frolic stepping proud,
declaring early dawn, whistling shrill loud.
Close- by resort attracts it.
On yard sometimes makes visit,
looks at posh auditorium,
large dining hall on decorum.
Table cover of polyester
dazzled glittered charming the rooster.
Wanted to touch its glossy polish.
At last fulfilled its earnest wish.
Reached on table as delicious dish.

An apple a day
So they say
Would keep me in good figure
Dresses would fit
And so would tight jeans
As well as sexy jumpsuits
Pray,
An apple a day
Would keep me looking
Like I am eighteen forever!
Such did I make of my daily mantra
My motto
My life's motivation
Realizing not
The health hazards such would bring to me!
Yes, the massive hair loss started
And caused me to resort to doctors
Every single week
More, the weakness banged on me
And even caused me to fall into the nether
At my place of work in front of everyone
And yet again
I lost all energy
And instead of feeling like eighteen
I felt like I carried a body aged eighty!
Pray, with my image I am obsessed
With looking fit and slim
As does require the posh side of society
Yes, with such I want to blend in
And be accepted
For even if I am aware of the health hazards
Of eating only an apple a day
Pray
I do still make of it
My motto, my daily mantra!

The Promenade.
Another day Sunday at the seaside resort luckily there were
no carousels, few kids and those who were there behaved
textbook like, with their grandparents loyally eating ice cream
and drinking soda pops; since they were given everything they
wanted, there were few tantrums.
The latest trend now (for women) is to wear long, lose fitting
flowering dresses and my wife said she still had dresses like that
going back forty years; she will wear one of them tomorrow.
Grand yachts at the marina I counted three “Aston Martins”
wondered if Prince Charles was around. Yet on the promenade
I saw mostly pensioners who had been saving for a year to have
this one vacation. I was the only one who murmured darkly if
the rich had paid their taxes; but what do you expect of a man
who wants to bring back the guillotine.
Time has mellowed me the weather was summery I wore blazer
and looked posh (that´s what she said) and I did my best to keep
my stomach in. This is an enchanting time we tried not to think
of tomorrows as we sat on a bench eating ice-cream yogurt
…it has less sugar.
