Barn Burn Party

Off from formal stage's pageantry
Collisions of pewter play tenor to horn
Vessels filled with mead, wheat-gold,

Foam. Monks trade lines with scops
Who tile a church, swapping agricultural
Know-how. The technics prepare

Bard for a solo harp song in a barn
& there’s to the Caddy’s tune gathering sway
Lost so unquotable. Nightshade, potatoes,

ions, herbs, good gods & the animalistic
Sex. From a source outside chaos:
Terms return thermal bundles,

Predicaments inside time's homophony
From alloyed spinal column. A donkey
Drags a blade through red sea's surface dirt

Meshed in with hay dank from contra-
dictory earth—these testimonies to greater-
Thans. Cyber sectors offer testimonials

As a means of convincing discerning surfers to
Bypass impasse & buy by following the crowd.
Data suggests but there’s this thing in hand:

A cattle-bolt electron split down the
Middle; a steel beam cut by narrow flame;
A diamond-footed tub with fresh extracts.

Our Garden

Just sitting out on the veranda,
Shaded from the heat of the day,
Watching the birds going to and fro,
Each landing and picking food to go.
In the Almond tree they alight,
A peck or two then back in flight.
Lizards scamper across the hot ground,
Fearful of being dinner I'll be bound.
They all come to drink, one and all,
Refreshing sips from the waterfall.
The butterflies flutter by, so many I've seen,
Bees come for nectar to take to their Queen.
Down below the ants scurry always busy by day,
When night time comes they are all tucked away.
Cicadas drone somewhere in the trees,
I sit and watch this daily routine play out.
A fox barks somewhere out after dark.
A Scops owl sends out it's eerie hoot
The play carries on 24 hours a day,
The daily scene of the hunter and prey.
The plants and the workers each day do I see,
I enjoy God's creation, laid out just for me.

Jabberwocky Redux

Jabberwocky Redux

                  After reading too much Aquinas

Would an aphid reside in an onager’s ear
if the onager’s master spoke Twi?
Or a Gascony scop with a leper elope
if a civet leapt out of a tree?
You doubt it? Read Thomas and see.

Would an addax in Denmark gyrate
if an emu in Sweden bore freight?
Or an eland in Chile complain
if jerboas in Goa refrain?
You doubt it? Read Thomas and see.

For really I thought ‘twas the onager taught
the aphid the tenor of Twi, and
that Gascony scops with Norwegians eloped
when Danes had lepers to tea.
You doubt it? Read Thomas and see.
