A Shipwreck She Salvaged

She came aboard my sinking ship
a death blow to the bow,
attempts to bail and keep afloat
this mariners tattered sails.

Plot a new course and navigate
in storms and angry seas,
this vessel lists in the swells
life plundered by piracy.

Now this new maidens charge
is to steer starboard side,
for a new sheltered port
with rising tides.

This once scuttled ship
ill winds cast adrift,
is now tacking leeward
this sailors gift!

Salvaged

In deep despair, where dreams are nightmares,
I found myself, broken in spirit beyond repair.
By grace, from the wreckage, I surfaced anew,
In the heart of darkness, I received my rescue.

I’ve been salvaged from the shadows so deep,
Like a phoenix rising through a flaming heap.
The trials and tribulations, they lit up my way,
Through the tempest’s fury, as I bowed to pray.

With each affliction, or scar, a lesson learned,
In a baptism by fire, my fledgling faith burned.
I’ve been salvaged, a survivor, strong and free,
For in the shadow of death, I was shown a key.

Now I soar on eagles wings, of love and grace,
With a heart redeemed by His soothing embrace.
I’ve been salvaged, and I will never be the same,
Through the storms of life, His praise proclaim.

Man was forever doomed because of sin.
He could not escape the mess he was in.
Enslaved by Satan, the prince of the air,
condemned by God, His judgment to share.

But God through His mercy, loved us so much,
He sent His own Son our dead souls to touch,
with hands that brought a young damsel to life
and salvage and save us from sin and strife.

When you believe in the name of God’s Son,
lay hold of His grace and all He has done,
you will be freed from the prison of sin,
and new life for you in Christ will begin.

Salvation from sin comes through faith alone,
not through man’s works, but by God’s grace alone.
It was purchased by Christ Jesus alone,
for the glory of His Father alone.

Once you are saved and you give God your heart,
He gives you His name and sets you apart.
To reveal His love to those who are lost,
and let them know He bought them at great cost.

Premium MemberSalvaged Splendor

If the flowers wilt in my garden turned fallow
I would preserve one, the one you love the most
In my wasteland hope would again bloom
The salvaged splendor would portray my longing
When the flower would allure you with its scent
It’s me you’d know.

For Some Things Cannot Be Salvaged

The screen door
Of the lakeside cabin
Is carved with slices
The size of claws
From the jumping family dog
Of long ago

From which fish flies skim through
The moonlit din
Thinning
Themselves
Into those slots

Dropped
Like silver coins
Into the lamp light
Of the cabin

Hoping it’s enough
To re-start the cuckoo clock
Left for dead
On my old man’s wall.

Premium MemberStory of My Life

A Myriad of loving voices echo through my memories
Ghosts of those who touched my soul
And gifted me their legacies
Along the way there has been reckless peril on my stormy seas
There was but one who Salvaged me
Who saved me from my misery
Anchored me and kept me safe
and now at last I get to taste
The comfort of a warm embrace
For now I live without disgrace

Premium MemberA Salvaged World

A car rolls into a soundless night,
It's light sends a bursting view of overhanging growth,
In a microcosm succession of descending seconds,
Pruned for a snapshot temporal existence,
Till all is rendered back to the void of night.

Sounds of rolling wakes the void,
'Tis but a wheel cover errant for intimacy,
The road approves its adoption,
As it settles amongst other roadside neglects,
Earth's orphans coexisting under new sun's and periodical moon's.

Dull chrome insulted by grey matter and passing ignorance,
Melts in a blink of an eon as inherent elements being nursed,
A rebirth phenomenon after being ripped from its womb,
As meddling minds, carve out canyons and canvases felled trees,
Sculpture mountains, etch on charcoal skies, paint from oiled oceans,

All from a dark planet behind concealed metal mask and chromed artificial air tanks,
That all were at one time...
...an errant orphaned wheel cover.

Surrounded by dry prairie grass

Amidst a sea of broken glass

Like metal soldiers dressed in rust

V-8's wear vests of orange dust

And I, when gazing at them there

Get goose bumps raising every hair

Each time, because I swear I see

Dead headlights staring back at me

Salvaged

I don’t think our relationship can be salvaged.
You severed it when you only came back for one night.
Then you tried to get me and her to fight,
I’m sitting here alone thinking, about how we were about to welcome in a new life,
That we created and it is no longer to be waited for.
I want you to walk through the door, but what for?
So that you can hurt me some more!
I can’t imagine why you were the one I quickly adored.
I wish our relationship could be salvaged, but I may be wrong in wishing.
I surely miss the loving and the kissing.
I hate that all of this turned out to be this way.
I hope that you find a love, I the same, that is okay.
Maybe we’ll find each other better some day,
Maybe not.
Well a salvaged relationship is just a thought!
