Salud to who we don’t have to perform for,
wiping off makeup and the masquerade.
The joy’s quality time and nothing more,
a picnic lunch by the sea the day’s made.
Maybe all we do is just talk and talk
laughing endlessly into the sunset.
Our casual shoes were made for this dock.
That random hooky day’s a clever ploy,
a simple moment fills me with such joy.
Happiness derived from a day at shore
making memories that will never fade.
The unexpected is always in store,
wild are the moments I would never trade.
Caught inside the hustle of the boardwalk,
or on the shore lying back on a blanket.
We don’t ever pause to look at the clock.
Work hard play harder for the sweetest toy,
sharing with your friends all that you enjoy.

When I think of food and drink,
it's no surprise
the question does arise,
with booze some choose to let it breathe
and defer their bottle of wine,
I prefer to savour the flavour
and give mouth to mouth to mine.
(Que Syrah, Syrah!)
Some say, “The glass is half full,”
with accent on the positive,
some see the glass half empty,
and focus on the negative.
Two sides to every story,
supposedly that implies,
as for me I see
something else entirely.
And as for size I will apprise,
but, before I do, I beg of you,
allow me one more swig,
“Sláinte, salud, prost, cin cin,”
the glass is too damn big!

On the day of your party
Please be sure to invite
The Drunken Clown.
He offers steady humor
At a pace everyone can measure.
His drinks, give love and laughter ,
his expressions: love and empathy.
In a graded lawn he falls and tumbles,
His eyes red and bleeding,
Look to him to point and laugh.
Our drunken clown gets his payment
In full, pursuing the right wingers,
And guffawing with the left.
His sincerity bobbles in an ocean of booze.
Cheers and Slaintè to our drunken clown.
Salud, and Prost!
To our home
And I sleep the sleep
Of a thousand filtered souls,
In ungracious betterment,
And a hope to die by my own hand.
Vicious visions of a youth undocumented,
And a prayer I never have the balls to do it.

In the U S March is Women's History Month, and tomorrow, March 8, is International Women's Day. So, ladies everywhere, this piece is for you. Salud!
You are woman, so defined,
You are perfectly designed,
Every aspect of your being makes you who you are.
You meet the challenges you face
With intelligence and grace,
Because of you the human race has come so far.
You have measure, you have worth,
And your purpose here on Earth
Is to show the world war's not the only way.
You may question, you may doubt,
But you bring good things about,
And do it all without a rancorous display.
Man is creation at its worst,
Why you were not invented first
Is a mystery, unsolvable, it's true.
Though chauvinists may sneer and scoff,
We might be so much better off
If the running of the world were up to you.
We'll never understand God's plan,
So from one less-than-perfect man,
To all you women,
Thanks for all the things you do.

I wish I had the words to speak;
They are now untrue.
I wish you were my everything;
Why can't she be you?
I wish you were that love,
Of both old and new.
When is there enough,
To fill our cup,
And say salud?

Three Sisters
Three sisters sitting on a stoop
Like Autumn Summer and Spring
Reflective Introspective and Serene
Contemplating the past present and beyond
Givers of life from the womb to the tomb your love is eternal
You nurture children into women and men
Mothers of the Earth life's sweet nectar is chilled for all that you do
Salud

Kneeling before the altar he kisses his rosary he confesses all his sins,
he is anointed from head to toe, he knows his faith before he begins with great
amount of determination, fasting and absence, moments later he finally arises to
his task before hand realizing he is not the one that is grand it is all apart of
the master's plan. The bullfighter inner light shows so brightly and deep within the
bullfighter is so ready to begin. Reaching for his cape on the back of a wooden chair he
steps in the arena the crowd cheers and sips on their beers. The bullfighter remains
focus a gate is unleashed, the bull is released, with stern determination a statue, the
bullfighter stands tall he does not wave his cape. The Bullfighter bellows out
"Senor Cristo en es mio Santos".The bull immediately kneels and hits the ground
the crowd salud "O lay!"!
