Bon Voyage

they sat in a booth
near the door
spoke of ships and docks and stevedores
bays and decks and rails
and how to secure things
as not to fall
and though they spoke
of everyday life
it sounded glamourous
not full of strife

eating sausage, eggs and drinking tea
one looked quite the saltly dog to me
red shirt, black vest, gray beard and all
went on discussing tomorrow's chore
as I paid the check and heard no more
and returned to my life as I slid through the door

but my thoughts remained
with the one from Maine
and the salty ace
whose charming accent I never did place

Tears Dry Into Salt

Did the gods meet at the salt sea and have a severe tragedy?
Where tears flowed from giant eyes and shook the earth in pain.

The puddle of tears is the remains of such a great loss of majesty
Saltly crystals must have dried from god's cheeks like rain

Creation of the world could be simply described poetically
Forget all the scientific reason, let poetic logic gain

Yesterday

I remember the days of youth. Sitting on the golden sand watching the waves come and go
as they please. Feeling the ocean breeze wash over my skin.
I remember the days when we were so carefree. Building sandcastles with motes flowing
around the mounds of sand. Listening to the seagulls fly overhead.
I remember the nights when i would lay next to you and we would count the stars in the
lightly lit sky. Smelling that saltly ocean scent in the air.
I remember the late hours we spent just paddling our feet in the chilled water. Watching
the sun slowly fade below the horizon.
I remember all those moments we use to share there on that beach. Feeling as if time was
all that we had.
I remember now what i remembered then as if it were only yesterday again.
