What happened in the sky over Detroit Christmas Day,
might have very clearly, turned out a very different way
When a man from London, with a bomb in his pants
how he got on that plane, just who can say,
Another passenger though, spoiled his plan,
who saw a blanket on fire, that covered that man
He sprang into action, without even a thought,
to try and stop a terrorist, to do what he can,
He tried to put out the fire, little did he know,
the terrorist had a bomb, he was trying to blow
He snatched the terrorist, out of his seat,
and pulled him out into the center of the row,
The man put up a fight, when his bomb wouldn't blow,
the passenger put him in a chock hold and wouldn't let go
The Pilot landed the plane, without a delay,
the passenger in twenty J is now called a Hero.

"Crispy, crumbly, chocolate Christmas cookies cooling . . . "
I am going to turn back the pages of time,
to when my Grandma made cookies in wintertime;
I would sit at the kitchen table with my cat,
cooling on the counter were creations sublime.
Grandma said, don't touch, and in her rocker she sat,
reading my book I stopped to give my kitty a pat;
But he had vanished and I was just petting air,
oh, just smelling that chocolate would make me fat.
Grandma snorted loudly and got up from her chair,
checking the crispy, crumbly treats- she turned to stare;
and she said, my dear I told your not to touch them,
but, but I didn't Grandma, I was loud to declare,
And at that moment we noticed my cat Tom Thumb,
one Christmas delight was diminished to a crumb;
how sweet are these pages of my life to recall,
kitty was in the "dog house" cause he had succumb.

Pleeeez… stop your whining and complaining
Agreed, dog days of summer are straining
Let's make the most of these hot sunny days
Might as well call friends, be entertaining
Come and sit in our air conditioned house
Remember your swimsuit and grab your spouse
We'll pretend we're on a resort island
Cool off and have some fun at our clubhouse
Let's appreciate the sun from inside
Where from the scorching weather we can hide
Sipping margaritas and coladas
Let's have fun so come along for the ride
Let's enjoy the cool waters of our pool
Stop being negative, don't be a fool
Later in the shade enjoy the evening
Remember what's summer's number one rule
Remember your whines when winter winds blow
And you're out shoveling a foot of snow
This stretch of heat'll be over soon enough
Make yourself useful, open the Bordeaux
We can't be wishing all our days away
How quick will come the Christmas holiday
Years fly by without any extra help
We sure can't wish our life away

"... The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 of the King James Bible
Christmas shows compassion in action's best
Exemplified by God midst loving zest
Reaching down to us, offering great gift
Grant of eternal life, wondrously blest.
Christmas radiates hope with vibrant cheer
Since the Saviour* brought us redemption dear
As sweet Baby bearing Emmanuel's name
Assuring Almighty's presence so near.
Christmas reverberates serene joy-shout
Of angels' choir "peace on earth" without doubt
Echoing good will that rings kindness' chime
Silencing chaotic pain, smiting pout.
Christmas magnifies divine grace for all
Multiplying freely yon sharing call
To conquer covetous acts of greed's gain
Uplifting soul from selfishness' down fall.
Christmas prevails along gratitude glow
Marked by caring deeds of forgiveness-flow
While giving and thanksgiving spirit reigns
Now, tomorrow, and all days that follow.
Such essence drives Christmas poetry-bliss
Surpassing festive meetings we can't miss
For glorious victory surely lingers
We all can express from our hearts' abyss.
*Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
