The roundest, orangest, nicest pumpkin I find
In a farmer's field ten miles from town.
Uncarved and free from ghoul's design
with unsaid prayers, I set my pumpkin down.

I set it down in grass in front of a stone.
A granite stone turned in perfect square.
Light's changing now to a dimmer tone.
My tears fall from my empty eyes that stare.

They stare as time passes quickly before my eyes.
The rotting fruit has caved on all four sides.
Hence, heraldic symbol dies
To become slime above where love resides.

Globe spatters, sending forth white pearly seeds
with matted threads. Could this be human brain?
Lunging forth, I trip on rocks and weeds.
My legs move, but I can make no gain.

I look to see what caused my foot to trip.
I see a granite stone much like the same
as my Love's, it ends with letters RIP.
and, 'bove is' -Wife of- and - Oh No - my name.

Premium MemberMeeting a Sun Fish

Heaviest bony fish at five thousand pounds
The ocean sunfish is the roundest of the rounds.
Looks like a giant head maneuvered by a frilly tail.
Eats jellyfish by the dozen, ten foot long is the male.
It cannot move daintily, delicately or very fast.
If you meet one in person, the memory will no doubt last.

My Hot Zone

Gloriously gorgeous is thy mien
Let me thwart kisses umpteen
Twin cheeks are lavishly sweet
To them let my lips do hit
Want to smell thy body beautiful
For it has an aroma delightful
You resemble a tree with fruit
Full of blossoms deliciously astute
Yearning to love thee till my last
You’re my flame from births past
Rich buxom and roundest girdle
Hips and thighs are full of swirl
Want to suck thy juice secreted
Entering thy pelvic zone celebrated..!!

Vowels

As green and sweet smelling as freshly cut grass
out in a meadow in May
Comes a tall little angel, bold as can be
Striding out with a canter, comes A

Following, galloping, alone and in pairs
But always eager to please
Red as fine poppies, perfumed as the rose
We smile and welcome the Es

In search of a buddy, but brave when alone
And blue as a clear summer sky
A whiff of pine tiptoes over the hill
Let's welcome the capital I

Rotund as a donut, with aromas of fruit
He's the roundest chappy I know
There's an air of surprise as he links with a mate
Glowing orange with honour is O

Purple with purpose, strutting into the scene
With the scent of a hearty stew
Turning a corner, bucking the trend
Curved like a magnet, the U

Premium MemberPuns Galore

Been writing some “not so fun” poems lately
Time to get back to the silly stuff
No matter what we do, nuttin's gonna change
Bad stuff, we've heard quite enough

D'ya hear the one about this unfortunate fellow
Whose whole left side was cut off
Sure sounds to me like an extremely sad event
Seems he's all RIGHT now, did you scoff?

Gotta a big bunch more, d'ya wanna hear 'em
Why was the baseball getting bigger
Then without any warning, it suddenly hit me
There was some groans, I figure

Hard boiled eggs are very hard to beat
This one's a real good laugher
Leaving alphabet soup on the stove overnight
Certainly could spell disaster

My tennis opponent wasn't happy with my serve
He kept on returning the damn thing
Used to be a tap dancer until Tuesday last week
Fell off the tap into the sink

Chickens crossing the road are poultry in motion
Things round here are getting tense
The roundest knight at King Arthur's round table
Was of course, Sir Cumference

Had enough or do you want to hear more
Okay one more then it's over
When the cannibal showed up late for dinner
They gave him the old cold shoulder

At King Arthurs Court

Sir Lancelot was the greatest
Sir Gawain was the soundest
Sir Galahad was the purest
Sir Cumference was the roundest
